At Long Last… Baseball.

Baseball Week In review-2.jpg

Its June. Summer Is Grazing On The Seasonal Plain. The World Of Baseball Laden with Endless Anamolies Is A Spiraling Pitch Heading Front and Center Down And Up, Up And Down The Strike Zone Widening, And So is The scope Of The Sport’s paradigm.

The Sticky Substance Section Has Become The Sensation of the summer For Every Subscriber. Now That The Perceived Difficulty Of Understanding The Rules Has Passed The Earnest Difficulty OF consistent Enforcing them Has Begun.

Rules Are Made TO Keep Us Safe. The vagueness Of Major League Baseball’s Controversy is A Bit More Dismyticfied, Along The Lines Of What the controversy actually is But  Why It Is Important An dHOw It’s Handled? is the next strata of the saga. “Stickiness” Gets a lot More Murkier And Taking on A Number O forms Like Some deranged Ditto, The Pokemon, Or More Like The Substances that Inspired all Of This drama To Began with.  We enter The enforcement Stage.

Baseball Players, Mainly Pitcher,… Ok, Only Pictures  Have Become How I say It, demonstrative, To Put it Politely,  In Their Objection, To The New crackdown On Banned Substances. Just Like MEployeees Adjusting To New Rules Of Engagement Set forth By an Employer, Who are  “Perceived” as Having Limited Comprehension  Of The Intricacies Of They Work they Entreat upon The Employees—In  Offensive Terms  “Ignorance,” Baseball Players, Pitchers, Are Accrediting The Enforcement Of the Rules As An Attack On their Craft, And in Consequence, Their Pay.   The Employers,  Are Responsible For Administering the rules. Not To play Under them. Their Sole Objective; produce the greatest amount of capital For The Greatest Amount Of resource Rendered And Protecting The Creditability Of The Product that Results From the Resource back into the capital. Yes, Baseball Players Are Resources. Economics Withstanding. The Employees, in this case, The Players,  Have Conceded to the New demands. Follow The Rules, which I Remind Are Not New rules.  Because, of course, Baseball Players Need Their Millions Dollar Year Salaries. Never less This Yielding Would  Not Be Granted without Protest Because Baseball Players have Million Dollar A Year Salaries.

The “Enforcement,” Is An  Extensive Searching Of The Bodies Of Suspected Players, for Foreign Substances, Which Are Noticeably Not Detailed, More Nuanced For your Buck, Perpetrator Will Incurs An Immediate Ejection, And Subsequent fines And Suspensions. The Inspections, Began Two Nights Ago,  Mets Ace Jacob Degrom, Who Passed And Entered Into History As the First Major Leaguer “Trialed ” Upon Upon leaving The Mound. Degrom Is Notching more history This Year, More on that later.

The Frame Surrounding This Historical Moment Was one of  Reverent Wonder. Spectator gazed patiently Awaiting for The Verdict Of  The Met’s Ace. His Glove, Body, and Hat Were All Dissectedd By The Umpires, Suspectimg Him of The sticky. The crowd Gazed As If Degrom Were Charged with Murder Or Or A More Fitting Analogy. As if He Were  Receiving The First Dose Of Covid Vaccine And His Mutatations Would Then take Place On The Spot. But deGrom Passed And Then We Entered A Space Of Calm And Strikeouts.

The Complications Began  The Night After When Washington National Pitcher Matt Sherzer, Yes That Massive Block of Words Was Merely the Preamble, Yes, I will Put Interuptord Everywhere, Yes, You Can Read Other Writers They Are Not Me; Who Better For Than The Boy, Ha. Sherzer, the Nationals Ace was ostensibly Upset  With The “frisking”  For Sticky Substance THAT Appeard Excessive Even Untrained eyes.

Visibly discontent With Either The Umpire Handling Of The Matter Or The Implied Inspection Itself.

Some Context On the Matter; Sherzer’s Inspection Occurred As the Nationals had a 3-1 lead over the Phillies, ahead of the fifth inning. Unlike Degrom, The Pride and Joy Of Major League pitching Angles, the first pitcher scheduled top The Mound On Monday, Which Placed Him in the Center, as the first pitcher checked. DeGrom's glove, hat, and belt were checked as he came off the mound following a 1-2-3 in the first inning.

Matt Sherzer Inspection Took Place As The Nets Were Closing The Fifth Inning Of A Close Game With Between They and The Phillies. The Nats Hung On To Win The Game But Some, Including Dodger’s Ace Clayton Kershaw, Insinuate, ill intent on the part of Phillies manager Joe Girardi, who requested the search of Scherzer following A “filthy” Fastball That Narrowly knock Out Phillies’s Hiiter Alec Bohm. Kershaw Suggested Managers Also Be Punished  For What Matt Scherzer Called “Bush League” tactics. The Sherzer Search span Most of His Torso And above Into His Hear. Regardless of the “crackdowns” Enforcement And Somewhat Shameful Exposition, Major League Pitcher’s Insist That, not Only Are The Foreign Substances Not Harmful They Are Beneficial To the Sports And Safety of its Recourses, The players. Hitters Like Kris Bryant are Dispondent To These Claims of Player Safety That Lend To The Pitcher’s cause As A “Cop Out” For Pitcher Pining(you Like That!) For Competitive Advantage. Bryant Was elated At the sight of The New Strident Stride against Stickiness.

Irrespective of All, Is  Girardi’s  “tactics,” Which Were Universally Bemoaned By Those Outside The Phillies Organization. When Approached about The Matter Cubs Hitter Kris Bryant added, “ Girardi’s request had “nothing to do with substances” and “he had no probable cause to ask for it.” Major League Baseball President cancel any Further Claims Of Malfeasants By affirming  That Giradi’s  Request was Legal. As Report In the Washington Post. We are Already Past the Week Point in the Preliminary Enforcement Stages Of testing. Major  League Baseball Represtantives Have Issued A Statement that Suggests The League Is Looking into The cause Of The Pitcher And Issuing Their Detailed Substance if Any For Use in Performance. Note: Pitchers who Violate The Sticky Substance Protocol will Receive A Ten game Suspension.

If You A fan Of The Program, Yes I am Referring To all Two-million  Of You; thank you google. I am just joking. But if you are one of Mine, a  Faithful Adherence. You Are ProbablyExhaustedd of My Constant Grammatiacal inerrancies My Incomplete Sentences, That, Consequentilally Only  Infuriate You Further  After  They Are Followed By The Zenith  Or The Nadir Of  An Overclothed Sentence. Yes,  If Those Vagaries  Aren’t Ones You Have Become Abreast To, I Am Quite Certain  My Endless Veneration Of The Dodgers, Is Certainly A “Not Again” Moment  For You,  Only Breidfly Assuaged when I further Diddling By Detailing Some Padres Or Nl West angle That Parented To The Dodgers.  So, I Decide This week To Spotlight Another NL Contender-ish-maybe-if-the -state-of-California-suddenly-had-outbreak-of covid-and-isolated-all-their-team.  So “why Not The Mets?” Those Are The Word Of Mets Soon To be AllStar, maybe, no, Short Francisco Lindor, Who just This past April Signed The Third Largest Contract In Major League Baseball History, Netting Himself 10 Years $341 Million At Age 27 After Being Traded Over From The Indians In December. Lindor Has Been One Of The Leader Top Players In Defensive WAR Since 2015, Currently Sitting At 13. The Puerto Rican Born Lindor Has An Incredible Instinct For Judging the Ball As It ricocheted Off The Bat. No Matter Who Is Hitting for The opposition, Baseball Directs Its way Into Lindor’s Bearings And, In Most Cases, His GLovee. Lindor Is the Only Player In the NL Who Ranks top 5 In innings Played, 624, total Chances(opportunities For Defensive Dynamics),286, and The only Player In Triple Digits In Putouts(actionsThat results In OutS) 104. His Feilding Percentage(how effective a Fielder At being fielder Or Making A  Play in the field),  Sits at.983, With Only 5 Errors On The Glove. If all The Baseball Parlance Is too recondite for you, Know This, He is a Great Defensive Feilder,  and a Potential MVP talent; if Of course,  It Weren’t for A Few factors. That Include Fernanado Tatis Jr, But Primarily Because of How Morbidly Those Defensive Numbers Reflect His Offense.

For all of His Glory, Lindor, One Of The Best short Stops In The Game, And One The Most Beloved Faces In The Sport Of Baseball is Paltry at the plate.

Hitting An Average on splits .216/.303/.363/.666 With A 1.6, WAR, and 5 Home runs. These are Average Baseline Conversion rates which are in effect  Drastically Improved from His Splits Two Months Ago, .182/.297/.234, with one home run, one double, and three RBIs in 21 games(per Espn/stats) But Still Lagging Behind The Numbers From His Final FULL Season In Cleveland(2019), 284/.335/.518/.854 and 4.7 WAR. A Night removed From A game Winning RBI, Lindor is Hitting 4 runs,s 7 Hits, 1 home run, And 5 RBIs Over His Last seven games And still Facing Down One Of The Worse Hitting courses of His Career. Unfortunately for The Mets, There Isn't Another Bat In The Order Hitting Above .300. So, You May be thinking, “Jason, what Makes This godforsaken team Wroth Writing 500 Plus words For?”.

Well, The Mets Sit Comfortably Atop The NL East At 41-34. That Lead is in trouble Of Slipping Through Their Grip; The Mets Have Lost three of Their Last Five, All Loses Courtesy Of NL East Rivals seeking to cease The Summit Of Their Middlingly Competitive Division. The National Are Still 3 Behind And But They Hitting Up Storm Along the East Coast. The Confidence And Conversation About The Mets Begin To Tightened Up In the Grip Of Major League Baseball’s Top Pitcher Jacob DeGrom.

Degrom was a Relatively Unknown Prospect as A Pitcher, Evolving Out Of His “Positioned” Guard At Shortstop When The Nets Drafted Him In the 9th Round Of 2010. DeGrom was an unremarkable Figure as well. Tall, Fluffy Haired, Humble, and unassumed. But There was One Distinguishable feature “He Had A. Real nice Arm.” That Nice Arm Now A “Flamethrower” Attaches To The man Who has Morph Into Baseball Best Pitchers. “The way he's going, maybe he doesn't necessarily aim for it, but deGrom is zooming straight toward superstardom.” That Aim Is Lock-In, and Its Throwing At rates some are considering Incomparable, Borderline Infeasible; That would Be The Case If We were Not Witnessing It. “deGrom’s 0.50 ERA is the lowest by any pitcher in his first 12 starts of the season since earned runs began being tracked in 1913. His 0.51 WHIP is the lowest by any pitcher over a 12-start span since 1901. He is the first pitcher with this many strikeouts and this few hits in 12 games.” On that Faithful day deGrom Rose In history As The Frist Pitcher Frisked For Froeirgn Substance HE Eclisped The 100 Mph On His Fast Ball Five Times. His Last Entry On The Mound Was Saturday. DeGrom Surender 2 runs Lifting His Era To .69 on The Season Degrom Has Now Given Up A Whopping 9 Runs in 78 Innings Pitched With A Mountainous 122 strikeouts. If DeGrom Surrendered 2 per game over his next 19 starts(The average Amount Of Pitching Start, Is around 32-34), He would still Finish With An ERA Below 1 Earned Run A Game. Degrom, Flanked Along with The Mets Other Two Aces, Marcus Stroman And Tijuan Walker, Who Would Otherwise Be The feature of A 500 Word Exert, Are Both Top 15 in ERA In The NL at 2.38 and 2.45 respectively. This is Why The Mets Are One Of The Soft Contenders in The NL. Their pItching And defense Subsidize The Starved Offensive Production. Degrom And. Co. have The Mets short Of the Playoffs By A Few Months. The Last time Degrom Pitched in the Playoffs,  He Was 3-0 with a 1.80 ERA in three starts, with 27 strikeouts and five walks in 20 innings pitched., In the 2015 World series Run. The Mets Are Expected To Be As Healthy As Possible to Come to The second Half Season Push. Fighting With “The Brew Crew” And Cubs Along Mid Tier of NL Playoff Bracket.

Wandering About East.

Perhaps, It was spurred on by The Lost Of Their Chief Ace Tyler Glasnow for what is Expected o be out for The Foreseeable Future. Or Perhaps It Dawned On Them, When The Dust Of The Final inning of their 6-2 lost to The Seattle Mariner, one Of Their Six Losses In a Row, The First Of its Kind For The Rays this Season,  All At off The Bats Of American League Opponents, settled. Or Perhaps It Was the sudden, harbingering Raise Of The AL East’s Other Powerhouse The Boston Red Sox coming Up The Pike. Or Perhaps It Was Just Time. The Tampa Bay Rays Are Sensing The Pressure Mounting. For The Better Part Of Two  Month, They Stood, Once Undisputed Atop The American League. They won 16 of 17 games to the end Of May. Then The Astros, Mired But Mighty with Hot Hitters, Wrestle the Al West from The Stoney Grasp Of the Oakland Athletics, As well as The Claim to Major League Baseball’s Best Record Away From All Else, For THE Moment. Then There is The Aforementioned Red Sox. Sitting No contest  Atop The AL East By Four Game.  The White Sox Have fallen from the Precipice, But They Have to Handle The Rays Enough Times To Be Confident Should they Have A Square Off Come fall. All This Resulted in The Rays Brass Calling Up Wonder Kid Wander Franco, Pun Intended. If You Are Not An Avid Adheret Of The Advances Of Major league Baseball’s Development Prospects, No Need To Worry Here, There is Only One Thing One Must Know About Wander Franco, He IS Major League Baseball’s Number 1 Prospect. Honestly, I Have Read That appellative brandished Along Side his Name So Much I Have accepted It With the earnest Conviction Of ReligiousCreed. If I Were To find Out another Wise Of Franco I Would be Devasted; To The Point of suicide. Truly The Wonder Wander Are Endless. It’s Been The Better Part Of two Years But The Narrative Surrounding This Kid Has Not Faltered. There Are Supplenmeted Facts To Go Along with His standing as A Prospect. He is A 20-Year-old Dominican Born Short Stop, one Of the Best Prospects To enter The Rays farm, Scratch That, The MLB Farm System Since He Entered The League when He signed as An 18-Year-Old in 2018. Franco had hit .315/.367/.586 at Triple-A in Durham. He was the youngest player in the league after skipping Double-A. A potent Switch Hitter, Franco Has been entrancing Major Baseball’s fascinators Since The Day He Signed His Frist Contract And Spoke His First word On American Soil; In Spanish, Of Course, A Translator By His Side, He Is Still Learning English. Franco Would Make His Debut On The 22 June 2021. Batting 2nd In Order, which Only Embellishes the Confidence The Rays Have In their Latest Star prospect. Next To maybe That team In Blue And White Out west, Few Manage Their Prospects Better Than the Rays. Franco became The Youngest Player To start and bat 2nd In 25 years. He Did Not Disappoint. Franco Forced a walk in his first Bat, Notched game-tying three-run homer in the fifth inning, and a double off the left field in the seventh. The Rays would Ultimately Fall To The Red Sox In 11 innings Capping Off An Seven Game Losing streak that Wouldn’t come to a Close Until The Following Night. Franco had Set The Standard For The Lofty Production Scouts and Pundits Have Long Established as his Baseline Production. Even though The Call up The Rays Have A Very Confident And Capable Infielder, Franco Is Expected To Alternate Between Third Base And Short Stop.
