NFL Thursday Night Football Week 14

PACKERS VS. LIONS

If Team Can Snatch The Hopes Of A Super Bowl Appearance Away From  The Lions and Eagles Atop The NFC The Packers Look Like That Team Despite Dropping To 9-4 After Their Most Recent Loss To The Lions. The Packers Stormed Back From A First Half Deficit And Almost Had The Lions On The Ropes Like A Couple of Teams Have Manage This Season However The Lions Came Late To Emerge With A Playoff Berth And Another step closer to The Conference’s Top Spot 34-31 Victory.

The Green Bay Packers Enter Week 14 With The

Distinctive Title As The Last Team Not Get Ran Over By The NFL’s Finest Detroit Lions. Sure The Lions ran Over Detroit With 24-14 And  Produced A 17-3 At One Point In The Game. The Packers held Jared Goff Under 200 Yards But GoFF Made the Most Of His 22 Attempts During That Game As The Lions Moved Past The Packers Four Weeks Ago. The Packers Remain One Of The League’s Next Best Behind The Likes Of The Lions And Though They Sit Behind The Lions and Vikings In The Division Green Bay Can Go Toe To Toe With any Team in the conference. We've  All Seen What The Lions

can Do On Offense and That Team has No Protruding Weaknesses. Pressuring Goff Usually Stands Out As The Chief Factor in toppling The Lions But No One Can Get Consistent Pressure On Him. The Packers have one of the best dropback offenses in football, but they struggled against the Lions last time. Jordan Love threw a pick-six that virtually knocked the Packers out of a contending chance in the game. If You’re The Packer Or Any Team In The NFL How Green Bay Performed Against The Top Offense In Football on the First Drive Against is How You Want To Play. The More Ben Johnson reaches Into His Script The More “Projectable” And The More “Tendencies” Start To Rare Their Heads. Sure, the Packers gave up a red zone drive and watched The Lions burn 20 yards in three plays to score a touchdown by David Montgomery, but you have to make Detroit work a series of plays and hope for an opening to steal possession. The Packers would steal possession from the Lions in the third quarter on a short pass from Jared Goff by Keisean Nixon, as the Packers' third-quarter storm began to come in. The Weaker Moments Of The Lions' Offense Showed On The Lions' Next Three Drives As The Lions Could Only Produce One Field Goal after Opening The Game With A Score.  The Packers Have Gotten More Than Adequate Receiving Play From Their Unheralded Crop Of Receiver But Christian Watson Fumble On The Packers First Drive Of The Second Quarter Leads To A Detroit Field Goal. The Packers Would’ve Picked A First Down With The Ball At Mid Field Instead The Lions Recover The Fumble And Convert A Field Goal. The Packers Get on the scoreboard by Turning To The Run Game And Josh Jacob To alleviate The Lions' Pressure Attack. Matt Lafleur Called Nine Runs And One Pass And Got The Packers Into The Red Zone. Josh Jacobs Eclipse  A Thousand Yards On The Season IN the Game And His Efforts Capped Off  An 11 Play 70 Yard Drive With A One Yard Touchdown. When The Packers Passed They Pick Up A Penalty Or Big Play A Pass Interference Penalty That Set The Lions At the zone Yard Line. Detroits’s Running backs Would Continue To Imprint Their Presence On The Game As Jahmyr Gibbs Caught a Short Two Yard Touchdown In The Red Zone To Keep The Lions  Up 17-7 Before Half Time.  After Struggling With Pressure In The First Half Jordan Love Needed Just Two Completions To Get The Packers Back On The Board And Into Game. Love Started With a Big Hit To Christian Watson For 59 Before Connecting With Tucker Kraft For 12 Yard Touchdown To Cut The Lions Lead To Just Three. The Packers Wouldn’t Slow Down After A Jared Goff Interception Would Set Packers Up In the Red Zone Josh Jacobs Would Score His Second Touchdown of The Game On A Six Yard Run, And In Two Drives Before Way Through The Third, The Packers took The lead From The Lions 21-17. The Lions Have Rarely Faced Adversity This Season Or Across Their Recent 9 Game Run Of Wins But Jared Goff Shook  Off the Impact Of The Pick And Delivered Short Pass After Short With Jahmyr Gibbs and  David Montgomery Sprinkling In Some Runs To Get The Lions Back In Front 24-21 Late In The Third. Neither Team Would Find Success Over The Next Two Drives The Packers Would Punt And the Lions Suffer A Turnover On Downs Jahmyr Gibbs Gets Stuffed At The Line Of Scrimmage. The fourth Quarter Begins With The Packers Again Taking Back the Lead In Lions Territory Josh Jacobs Wins On The Ground Set Up By A Tucker Kraft 21 Yard Catch That Set The Packers Up In The Red Zone. The scoreboard Again Turned To Green Bay’s Advantage 28-24. The Packers Would Score Quickly But The Lions Would Produce More Methodical Drive 10  plays For 70 Yards. Goff Didn’t Complete A lot Of Passes Beyond The Ten But He Started Working Deeper Into The Zones Of The Packers Defense Completing Passes Of 10 Yards, 18 Yards, and 11 Yards, as The Lions Cash A Tim Patrick Touchdown. Goff Didn’t Complete A Pass Over 20 Air Yards But He Completed A Few Over 15 Air Yards. The Two Teams Would Trade Field Goals As The Lions Put Together One More 10 Plus Play Drive To Get Down To The Packers’ Red Zone Spare Headed By A 19 Yard Jameson Williams Catch and A 16 Yard Catch To Amon-Ra St. BROWN which set the Lions In Position To Kick A Field Goal. The Lions Escaped With A Win In This Matchup. During The team's Final Drive The Packers Stop The Lions From Converting A Third And  In Field Goal Range With Green Bay Out Of Timeouts. If The Lions Kick A Field In That Instance The Packers Get Another Shot At  The Win With Maybe Forty Or So Seconds With Detroit's Secondary Already Vulnerable and Reeling From Multiple Penalties And Jordan Love Completing some Big Throws. The Lions Convert On Fourth And One And Drain Out The Clock for Their Second Field Goal.  Jordan Love Got Pressured A lot This Game And The Packers didn’t Rely Much On Him As A Thrower Just 12/20 For 206 Passing And A Touchdown But He Made The opportunities  Matt Lafleur Gave Him and The Packers Had A lot Of Favorable Field Position SituationS. The Lions Playing Gutsy In The End But The Fourth Down Call Feels More Like An Indictment Against Their Defense Whom Dan Campbell Couldn’t Trust To Get A Stop On Two Drives Including The Fourth Down The Team Didn’t Convert.  Yes, The Lions Escape The Jaws Of A Loss But The Packers' Offense Had Its Flaws And The Offensive Line looks atrocious Especially For Down Field Attacking Offense (Jordan Love Finished With an intended Air Yard Of 9.4) But The Packers Can Get Hot And Relay Off Multiple Scores So I Wouldn’t Count Them Out Of Any Game And While The Defense Remains Inconsistent Especially Over The Middle In Between The Linebackers Where Jared Goff Chewed The Packer To Ribbons. Goff Finished The Game with 283 Passing Yards, 41 Attempts, 78% Completion Percentage, and A Passer Rating Of 109.7. He’s Not Exceeding His Limits By No Means But Can Detroit and Ben Johnson Continue To Utilize Imagination and The Run Game To Cover Goff’s Flaws?
