NFL Week Five Takeaways

The Vikings And the Chiefs Remain The Only Unbeaten Teams In Football After Five Weeks. The Ravens WhoUsually Suffer From Second Half Meltdowns Flipped the Narrative In Their Favor Overcoming A Ten Point Deficit To Defeat The Bengals. The Texans Survived A Stare-down against The Bills And The loss means Buffalo Has Now Two Games In A Row Two AFC contenders. The Jags Getting Their First Win Of The Season Proves The Largest Storyline.

Saints Vs. Chiefs

Nothing Can Mislead and Deceive The Football Faithful More Than A Hot Start. A Couple Of Weeks Ago The Saints Had The NFL World Ablaze And the Fan's Eyes In A Gaze As Klint Kubiak looked Like The Latest Version Of The Next Best Offensive Guru Because Every OC Has Looked Like The Next Best Version Of The Great OC. That Torrid Pace Has Slowed Down In Weeks and Even When Derek Carr Hit Rashid Shaheed For A 50 yard Bomb To Put The Saints On The Board The Chiefs All But Quieted Any Reason To Believe The Saints First Week Would Make Another Performance In The League. The Chiefs Defeat The Saints 26-13 The Kansas City Produced 460 Offense, 331 For Patrick Mahomes Who Completed 71.8% Of His Passes But Lost An Opportunity For a Touchdown As One Pick Pass bounced off The Hands Of Wide Receiver Juju Smith-Schuster In The Red Zone. Derek Carr had  Field Day Hunting Deep Passes But Coming Up Empty. The Saints Quarter Averaged A 13.4 Air Yard Per Attempt  The second-highest mark Of The Week Unfortunately He Also Finished With A -6.6 On The Air Yard Differential, Meaning He Didn’t Complete Deep Passes. With KC Defense Keeping Number One Option Chris Olave Seat-belted For Most Of The Game The Saints Offense Displayed A Overall Lack Of Talent And True Ingenuity. Carr Finished 18/28 For 165    Passing Yards And an interception Going Deep On The Saints Early. Any Notion Of A Derek Carr Redemption Tour Looks Thrown Out The Window After A Shotty Performance but He Can Still Reclaim Some Of The Luster From the Saints Hot Start.

When Isaiah Pacheco Went Down Many Thought An Important Piston In  The Chiefs’ Offense May Cause The Offense To Fall Off But The Addition Of Kareem Hunt Has Made the Most Of His Second Run With The Chiefs. The Former Pro Bowl Running Back Gobbled Up 27 Carries For 102 Yards and A Touchdown. This imperfect Chiefs’s Team Looks Like A Football Titan. Kansas City Simply Finds Ways To Win. Late In The Second QuarterThe Saints Somehow Convert A Massive set Of Downs That Began As 2nd and 34, Broke Down To 3rd And 21, And Thanks To A Travis Kelce Catch and lateral Ended On 4th And 1. If the Chiefs Continue To Pull Off Plays Like Those The League Could Very Well Witness The unthinkable In A Three-Peat.

Bills vs. Texans

The Texans topped the Bills 23-20 As The Opportunity  To Close This Game Out Swang In Both Teams' Favor. The Texans Suffered Two Second Half Turnovers As The Team Sought To Close Out The Game But The Bills Manage To Capitalize On Just One, Tying The Game At 20-20 with Over Three Minutes Left In The Game. With No Nico Collins In The Lineup, the Texan's Next Drive Fails To Produce Points, But The Ensuing Punt Pins The Bills Offense Deep In The Red Zone. The Texans' Defense Doesn't Yield, And The Bills Can't Exhaust Enough Time Off The Clock. The Bills Punt From Deep in Their End Zone resulting In A Short Field and A Field Goal to Win The Game.

Despite The Win The Texans I Still Feel Underperformed. The Offense Lost Nico Collins To Injury In This Game But The Texans Had The bills Against The Ropes At One Point   This Game and The Texans With Footballs Most Spottiest's Defense Left The Door Open  For Buffalo To Creep Back Into The Game Of Course Buffalo Couldn’tFinish The Comeback. Stefon Diggs Finished With 82 Yards And Got His First Revenge Game Win of The Season. Cj Stroud Stroud Finished 28/38 For 331 Passing Yards, One Touchdown, and A 78.3 QBR. Nico Collins CAUGHT two Passes For 78 Yards 67 Yard Touchdown Which Hurt Collins's Hamstring. Former MVP Front Runner Josh Allen Regress To The Form Of The Guy We Knew Before Stefon Diggs A Miserable 9/30 For 131 Passing Yards, one Touchdown, 49 Of Which Came On A Catch And Run By Keon Coleman Touchdown Run. No One Thought The Team That Blew Out The Jaguars Was the True Bills, these past Two Weeks Exposed The Reality Of Relying On  Josh Allen’s Super Talent, tight Ends As Pass Catchers, And a Good Running Game For The Most Part.

Bears Vs. Panther

No One Thought Caleb Williams Could Live Up To His Gargantuan Hype Heading Into The Middle Part Of The Season But Williams Caught Flames On Sunday. In A game That Should’ve Featured Both Number One Picks Of The Past Two Season, Bryce Young Made A brief Appearance As The Bear Rolled Past The Panthers 36-10.Williams Finished 20/29 304 Two Touchdown, 10.5 Average, 14.8 Yards Per Completion. Bears’ OC Shane Waldron Had The Deep Game Working And The Panthers Secondary Could Do Little To Negate Caleb Williams From Getting The Ball To His Big Receivers Over The Top Of The Defense. The Panther Struggled With Turnovers And Head Coach Dave Canales Turned The Offense Over To Bryce Young For A Stretch Young Went 4/7 For 58 Yards And A Highlight 27 Yard Pass—DJ Moore Caught 5 Passes For  102 Yards And Two Touchdown In His Revenge Game Against The Panthers. Panthers’ Running back Chubba Hubbard Proved The One Bright Spot For The Offense with 13 Carries, For 97 Yards.

Jets Vs Vikings

Sam Darnold Passed His Toughest Test Of The Season So Far As The Vikings Blasted Pass The Packers In Week Three but Now The Vikings Passing Offense Will Face The Tough Jets Secondary. The Jets Secondary Has Return To Their Rightful Place Atop Of The League. The Jets Come In Off A loss to A Lowly Broncos team But Now Face The Best Team In Football According  To DVOA, The Sam Darnold Lead Vikings. Last Week Darnold Didn't get Away With His Reckless Handling  Of The Ball Last But The Vikings' Defense Showed Heavy takeaways And Came With The Number One Defense BY Dvoa. The Jets And The Vikings Played The Early Game Out In London Which Draws Backs If you are a late Sleeper who Only Wakes Up To Watch Church and Football At Eleven But another game Gets Isolated  Out Of The Thick Sunday Slate. Although The Time Difference Matters For The Habits Of Players The Jets Offense, Still Sleeping From That Malaise Of A Performance Against The Broncos, Aaron Rodgers And The Passing Attack Suffered From Drops, Miscommunications, And YesInterceptions. Aaron Rodgers Had Trouble Seeing The Field Through The Great Thicket Of Tone Defenders,Other Time He Just    Through His Target Trying to hit Open Voids In The zone. The Vikings Don’t Possess  Any Great Players On The Back End Of The Teams’s Secondary But The Rally In Community. When the Jets Nailed A  big Play in the 2nd Quarter The Offense Would Stay Aggressive And Go For The Fourth Down Conversion But failed To Convert Near The End Zone Marking Three First Turnovers With Less Than  60 Yards. The Lost Conversion Would Forfeit A Field Goal For The Vikings. The Vikings

Would Get The Two Touchdowns Of The

Game, the First Intercepted As Vikings’s Linebacker Andrew Van Ginkel would Fall Back Into Zone A Pick Off Rodgers And Follow A Convoy Into The End Zone. What made the Intercept worse was that Wide Receiver Allen Lazard dropped a pass that would have converted the downs just two plays earlier. Despite His Relationship With Rodgers Lazard would Continue To Like A “Handicap” For Most Of The First Half Until He Caught A Touchdown From Aaron Rodgers Before The Half.    Lazard drops Would Continue To Mount In The Second Half However The Vikings' Defense Forced The Jets Into Many Third and Disadvantageous Distances Like 3rd & 8, 3rd & 6 The Jets’ Defense Kept Darnold In Check For The First 6/13 For 60 Yards most Of Which Came On 27 Yarder To Justin Jefferson. Full Back CJ Ham Converted The Vikings' First Offensive Touchdown Of the Game After A Sauce Gardner Pass Interference  Penalty Set The Vikings Up In The End Zone. Darnold Would Have To Live On Connecting Chuck Shots Downfield Against This Jets Defense Designed To Extend Your Play Script.  The Vikings’s Offense Spend Most Of The After Slugging Through A Malaise Of Penalties, Trapped In The Puddles Of Poor Field Position, Offensive Miscues sacks And Simply Avoiding  The Jets' Secondary While Nursing A Lead Two(2) Score Lead into The Fourth Quarter. The Jets Would Position Themselves In Theat To Vikings Two Score Lead Late In the Fourth Quarter  Sam Darnold and the Vikings' Offense Trying To work Themselves Out Of Their End Zone Leads To An Interceptions Targeting Wide Receiver Jordan Addison. The Jets' Offense Would Take Over On A Short Field and They had Another Fourth Down This Time Converting and Setting Up an Aaron Rodgers To Garrett Wilson One Yard Touchdown Cutting The Vikings Lead To 3 Points 20-17. The Vikings Offense Would Tack On A Field, Adding To their To Force The Jets To Score A Touchdown To Win. The Jets Would Put Together A Drive, A Misconnection Between Garrett Wilson Who Got Open After Cocking Stephon Gilmore Would Hurt The Drive. Eventually, The Veteran Gilmore Would Get His Moment, Picking Aaron Rodgers Or More Like Rodgers Threw Him The Ball Ending The Game, 23-17. The Jets Offense Over relied OnAaron Rodgers This Game. Rodgers Finished The Game With 54 Attempts, On Nearly 60 Dropbacks And Thats Just Egregious For 40-Year-Old  Quarterback Not Named Tom Brady. The Jets Offense Only Ran The Ball 14 Times.

The Contract The Browns Gave Deshaun Watson not Only Gridlocks The Franchise To A Quarterback On The Mend But Also Made Watson A “Target” Of Opposing Players Who Seem To Make An Extra “Emphasis” In Hitting Watson Hard Whenever They Get The Chance.

Jaguars Vs Colts

This Week Trevor Lawrence Found Himself Under The Heat Of The Spotlight And The Eyes Of The Examine Table AsFootball Analysis seeks to Understand How This Once Promising Prospect, The Head Turning Masterpiece Of Athleticism, Arm Power, And Long Flowing Hair Could Play Such Atrocious Football.  Entering Week Five The Jaguars Enter as One Of The Only Winless Team and Not Just Winless But Hapless The Team That Suffered The Most Embarrassing Lost Of The Season To Bills In Week Three. The Promising Head Coaching Career Has Looked Like One On Life Support. The Jags Have Had a Moment But Haven’t Quite Put A Game Winning Plan Together For A Full 60 Minutes. Heading Into Week Five Against The Colts, Starting Joe Flacco Without quarterbacking Anthony Richardson, the Jaguars Put an almost Complete Game Plan Together WinningTheir First Game Of The Season Kicking A Field Goal To Overcome The Colts To A Score Of 37-34. Lawrence Had His Head Scratching Moments Like His Third Quarter Interception On a Pass Thrown Into Double Coverage Targeting Brian Thomas But The Jags Would Respond To The Turnover With Three Straight Touchdown Drives, Two Of Which Came Through Explosive Plays By Running Back Tank Bigby. Lawrence Finished 28/34 For 371 Passing Yards, Two Touchdowns, And One Pick. In The First Half The first Play Of The Jags Third Lawrence Hit Rookie Wide Out Brian Thomas For An 85 85-yard score Marking Thomas's Third Score Of The Game and Easily His Long Score. Lawrence Also Hit Receiver Christian Kirk For Another Big Gain Of 61 Yards Down Field.

The Colts Had Fire Power Of Their Own, Joe Flacco Remains A Stalwart who Can Come Off The Bench and Postbig 300 Yard Games. The Colts Receivers Struggled With Drops, For Some Reason Not Catching The Ball with Two Hands As Every One From Josh Downs To Adonai Mitchell Would Drop On Point Passes.  Colts Receivers Ultimately Got a Hand On Things As The Game Progressed, Alec Peirce Would Come Down With an Impressive Juggling Grab On His Way To Leading The Colts In With 3 Catches For 134 Yards Over 44 Yards Per Catch and Including 65 Yard Catch For His One Touchdown Of The Game. The Colts Didn’t Have Star Running Back Jonathan Taylor and Their Usual Stout Offensive Line Play Also Suffered Due To Injuries. Flacco  Finished 33/44 For 359 Passing Yards and Three Touchdowns But The Drops Hurt Two Colts Drive As Indianapolis Marched Back From Down Double Figures. Flacco Also Suffered Three Sacks. The Colts Could’ve Used Some Help On The Ground On Early Downs.

This Week Reports Surfaced Of The Jaguars Willing To Move On From Former First Round Running BackTravis Ettiene  And Today Tanks Bigby Showcased Why. Bigby Blasted The Colts Defense Not With Efficiency But Rather Through A Couple Of Explosive Plays A Big 65-Yard Run As Mention, Bigby Gained Over 68 Yards OverExpected. The Jags Win Doesn’t Necessarily Save Doug Pedersen. The Jags End A 9 Game-Losing Streak Dating Back To Last Season. The Defense Got Picked Apart But Edge Rusher Travon Walker Produced 3 Sacks BringingHis Career Total To 15.5 Over Three Seasons, Only 12 Less Than Aidan Hutchinson So Far.

Falcons Vs. Tampa

The Falcons Swoope Into Week Five On Winds Of Gutsy Victory In Week Four Over The Saints. All Of Atlanta’sVictories Have Come Down To Just One Score And the Falcons Have Come Away With Two Victories, Something Feel Proud Of But Of course, they Know They Let Slip Before Facing The Tampa Bay Bus For The Division Lead In The South. The Bucs Sail Into Atlanta A Juggernaut In Football. The Falcons Secondary Come In Off A Strong Outing Strapping Down The Saints’ Explosive Passing Attack In The End But Tampa Present A Different Beast With Size and Variety Of Receivers.

The Falcons Ranger Receiver And The Atlanta Passing Game On Thursday Got Off To A Good Start. Tight End Kyle Pitts Who Didn’t Catch A Pass In Week 4 Picks Up His Just His Ninth Catch This One For 32 Yards. Drake London Would Finish Off Atlanta’s First Drive With An 18-yard touchdown Score. The Bucs Passing Offense Produced A Harrowing Start Of Their Own With Mayfield Starting 5/6 For 57 Yards and Hitting Mike Evans For A 2 Yard Touchdown.

Kirk Cousins Started Torches Tampa’s Secondary Early On Atlanta’s Second Drive, Including Big Plays Of 20 Yards, 15 Yards, and 8 yards But The Drives Stalls Out After Cousins Suffers A -9 And Younghoe Koo Would Miss The Long Field Goal. However, Cousins Smelling Blood In The Tampa Secondary. Atlanta Would Get Back To Attacking Through The Air This time Cousins Would Link Up With Darnell Mooney For 24 Yards In The End zone. The Drive Suffered Multiple Setbacks In The Form Of Two Holding Penalties That Nearly Derailed The Drive But Cousins Overcame Then  Delivered A Strike. After  A Field Goal, the Buc's Offense Needed A Response and Baker Mayfield And Mike Evans had The Right Answer. The Third Drive Only Needing Three Plays, Two Big Completions, One To Cade Otten For 22 Yards the Other For 23 Yards To Mike Evans For The Touchdown.    Tampa Bay Would Score On All Four Of Their First Drives Of The Game Including Three Touchdowns For Baker Mayfield Who Connected With The “Renaissance” Man Sterling Shepard Before The Half. The Falcons couldn’tquite Keep Up But Cousins Finished The First Half With his Best Game In Atlanta So Far m, 21/28 with 253 Passing Yards  But Two Sacks and An Inconsistent Run Game Has limited Atlanta’s Play Calling and Offensive Design  To Just Reliance On Kirk Cousins’ Arm. Atlanta’s On The Other Hand Trouble managing the Tampa Rushing Attack Rachaad White Broke Open For A Big 56 Yard run That Set Up Tampa’s Touchdown To Sterling Shepard As The Bucs' Rushing AVERAGED 9.1 A runs Nearly Three Times As Much As Atlanta's. The Bucs'Secondary Would Continue To suffer Bludgeoning Slash After Slash To Secondary But Timely Sacks From The Bucs Would Stunt Drives. Tampa Pass Rushes By Community With No Stand Pass Rush But All Equiform In Use So They All Move and Look The Same. Atlanta Would Score The first Touchdown Of The Second Half, Again Down Seven After Both Teams Score Field Goals The Falcons Would Drive Again To The Tampa Red Zone. This Time The Drives Biggest Play Came Courtesy Of Bijan Robinson’s Feet a Big 28 Yard Run To Get Atlanta into Scoring Position. The Bucs' Defense held Forcing A 4th 3 And Atlanta’s Offense Feeling The Pressure Would Respond With A 12 Yard Strike To Darnell Mooney who Would Convert The Down and Force A Miss Tackle and Rush Into The End-Zone. The 28-yard run Would Serve As An Anomaly For The Falcons’s Offense And The Lack Of A Run game Would Force Atlanta Into Facing Multiple Late downs and Distance Circumstances Some TheFalcons Fail to convert. Facing A 1st And 20 Kirk Cut The Distance Down To 3rd and Six But Darnell Mooney Drops A Big Conversion. Kirk Cousins Remained Steadfast, Despite Adversity, A Late Interception That Should’ve Ended The Game For The Bucs the Falcons Rose Up Late. On The First Drive Of Overtime, Khadarel Hodge For A big 45-yard catch And Run. Hodge Would Split Multiple Defenders On His Way To The End Zone. With No Run game, Some Turnovers, Poor Field Position, And Some Gut-wrenching Drops Somehow The Falcons Pull Out The Win. The Falcons Over Came 4.7 Win Probability, With A 0.03% Touchdown probability  To Take Over the South. Kirk Cousins Produced His Best Game Of The Season, and Maybe His career, 42/58 For 509, Four Touchdowns. The Bucs Got Lit Up And With Perfect Performance All Around The Place To Point Blame Would Start In The Secondary. Yes, Tampa Forced Several Pass Deflections and Even Intercepted A Pass Late But Couldn’t Stop Drake From Setting Up a Late Game Field Goal  On A 14 Catch And Run. The Falcons Still Accrued A Penalty Making A 47 Yard Field Goal, 52, And Kicker Koo Missed From a Distance Earlier In  The First Half But He Came Through In The Clutch.

The Loss Spoiled Another Gritty Performance from Baker Mayfield 19/24 For 180 Passing YARDS, Three Touchdown, 137.5 Passer Rating, 82.2 QBr Along With 6 Carries For 42 Yards On The Ground. Turnovers Played A Part Late With Rookie Bucky Irving Fumbling As Tampa Look To Put The Game Away But Atlanta Gave The Ball Away The Drive After Giving Tampa Another Shot To Ice The Game. Despite Only One Drive More Than Tampa Atlanta Ran 30 More Plays On Offense than Tampa Bay.  I Still Like Tampa As An NFC Championship Threat. The Secondary Could Get Pro Antoine Winfield Back On The Field, He’s Dealing with An Ankle Injury Thats Kept Him Out For Three Games. He’s Not Going To Change Everything But He’ll Prove A Difference On The Back End.  Maybe He Secures A Tackle On Drake London Deeper Maybe He Tackles Khadarel Hodge ButTampa Secondary Needs All The Help They Can Afford In The Coming Weeks.

Ravens Vs Bengals

The Ravens Performed A Classic Run Smash Mouth Brand Of FootbLl In Their Performance  Acclaimed Performance In Week Four. Some Fans Still Hang Hope, Still, Clamour For Baltimore To Revolutionize Their Passing  But With The Early Sucess On The Ground Doesn't Engender A Change In The Racens’s Philosophy.Dont Worry About The Aesthetics Of The Game Lamar's  Agility, His Unique Ability To Move Like No Other Rusher Beside Makes The Game Interesting.

The Bengals not Only Have The Threat Of Lamar On The Ground But They also have a Ravens  Secondary  Coming In Hot After The Flock Strapped Down Josh Allen And Bills Passing Game. The Game Could Equal The End Of The Bengals’s Season, As A loss Would Shut The Bengals To 1-4 In A Tough Division And A Less Than Wide Open AFC. With Their Only Win coming against The Panthers A Loss could Prove The Bengals Can'tcompete with The Best In The League even With Most Of Their Losses Coming As A Result Of A Couple of Bang-Bang Plays. The Battle Between These Two Heated Divisional Foes, Two Fierce Defenses Became A Showcase Of How These Offenses Play Best.

This game Comes Over Time With Both Teams Fumbling A Chance To Win, With The Game Tied 38-38 All After The Ravens Clawed Back From A double-digit-digit deficit To Push A Field Goal Through To Tie The Game. The Ravens Would Get Their First Crack At the Bengals’s In Overtime.  The Ravens Run Seven Plays For 27 Yards Before A Botch Snap By Lamar Lead The Bengal’s’s Taking Over in Baltimore territory. The Bengals Averaged 6.8 yards Per Play, And 8.8 Yards Per Pass On The Ravens But Cincy Gained Just Three Over Three and SETTle For A Long Field Goal.

This Cincy Would Suffer From A Snapping/Fumbling Error, When Cincy Holder Mishandles The Ball GettingThe Down On Off Timing Resulting In A Shanked The  Kick From 48 Yards Out. Despite some Explosive Plays In The Pass Game, 70 Yard Play From Jamar Chase Gave The Ravens Another Nightmarish Game Of 193 Receiving Yards On 10 Receptions, Two Touchdowns The Bengals Settled For Three Chase Brown Runs And Ultimately Lost. With The Ball Back On Their Side, The Ravens Needed Just One big Run And They Got It From Derrick Henry On 51 Yard Run Marking The Second Week In A Row Henry Notched A Run Of 50 Or Better. The Henry would Set The Ravens Up At The Foot Of The Red Zone For A Justin Tucker Field Goal.

Tucker Tied The Game On A 51 Yard Field Late In Regulation To Force Over Time. This Game Went Back and Forth All Another noon. The Ravens Score First After 12 Play Drive Culminates In A Derrick Henry Touchdown. However The Teal See-Saw Affair Would Commence In The Second Half As The Bengals Enter The Second Half With a Field Goal Lead the Two Team Would Exchange A Flurry Of Touchdowns. Every Drive The Bengals would Push The Lead Out To 10 And The Ravens Would Cut The Lead Down To Three The Following Drive. The Bengals Defense Handle The Ravens Run Game Manageably Until The End. Outside Of His Big 51 YarderHenry Rushed 14 Times For 41 Yards. Lamar Did Some Damage On The Ground, 12 Rushes For 55 Yards. The Real Raven Damage Came Through The Air. Most Days I’ll Agree That Lamar’s Passing Remains Inconsistent, HeCompletes Some Plays Only He Can. Lamar Finished With Four(4) Touchdowns, TWO to Isaiah Likely In The Back Of The End-Zone, One Of Which He Completed Rolling To His right with Pressure Barreling Down On Him, The Touchdown Star Line  Says 6 But The Air Traveled ON Pass Looked Over 20 Yards.

Plays Like that One become Highlights  For Jackson But Come Playoff Time Simply They Can’t Reproduce To The Same success level. Jackson is 28/42 with 348 Passing Yards, Four Touchdowns, and a Passer Rating Of 119.9. The Bengals Didn’t have Much rushing Success AS Noted However Joe Burrow  Played A rough game Passing The Ball 30/39 For 392 Passing Yards, Five Touchdowns, and One Pick With a Passer Rating Of 137.0. The One Interception Came At An Inopportune Time. With Just Over Five Minutes To Go The Bengals Needed To Score  Or Atleast Put Together A Time-Consuming Drive instead Joe Burrow Expects Jamar Chase To Win His Route, against Marlon Humphrey Like Chase Has Done So Many Times  But The Ball Drifts Behind Jamar And Lands In THE arms Of Humphrey Setting The Ravens Up ToDrive Into Field Goal And Despite an Excellent defensive Hold The ravens Convert a 51 Yard Because You Know Justin Tucker.

If I’m A Ravens Fan I like What I saw Today. The Ravens Followed Up Their Impressive Rushing Performance With An Impressive Passing Performance. On Defense Not Too Many Teams Can Dot Up The Ravens' Secondary, and Few Teams Can Dot Up The Ravens' Secondary Quite Like the Bengals. For Cincy The Season End Here YouGotta Assume. This Performance Could've Marked A Shift in the Season Instead It Marks Another Note For Many Lost Games.

Browns Vs Commanders

As Much As Everything That Composes The Cleveland Browns Offense Gets Brought To The Forefront Of The Media Attention When The Browns Fall Apart More Times Than Not The Defense Has Also Fallen Under Scrutiny. The Nearly Un Besmirch Defense From Last Season,  Number One Defense Overall Has Fallen To The 20th Best By FTN’s DVOA Metric.  The Defense Still Holds Many Of The Top Cards From Last Season MylesGarrett And Denzel Ward But The Defense Doesn’t Have The Same Impact. So Far Myles Garrett  Remains One Of The Highest Graded Defenders In Football But Teams Can Scheme Around Superior Edge Rusher With Quick passing And Complex Blocking Schemes and Kliff Kingsbury Achieved Just That Against The Browns Defense. The First Red Zone Drive For Commanders Ended With A Cleveland Interception As Line Jeremiah Owuso-Koromoah Picked Off An Errant Pass By Jayden Daniels But The Commanders Offense Would Fight Back Again Charging Down to the red Zone, A fourth and two Conversion Before Brian Robinson Converts The Drive With A Rushing. The Browns’s Defense Could Rattle Daniels But Couldn’t Slow Down The Commanders. Terry McClaurin Almost Notched 80 Yards In The First Half  And The Commanders Would Grab A 23-3 Lead On The

Heels Of Brian Robinson’s Second Rushing Touchdown And Daniels Linking Up With Receiver Dyami Brown On A 41 Yard Pass Right Before The

Half. Even When The Browns Got Pressure on Daniels He Handles The Play Like A Pro According To Next Gen Stats Daniels Converted 4/4 On Plays With Unblocked Pressure, Two Passes, Two Scrambles, And 13.39 EPA Per Play On Those Pressures.

Meanwhile, The Cleveland Offense Would Struggle With This Underrated Commanders Defense CurrentlySecond In The NFL According To DVOA. The Browns Couldn’t Perform Much Of Anything Only Further Elevating Some Of The Team’s Struggles.

Deshaun Watson and The Browns Could Only Produce Two Drives Of 10 Yards Or Better And Two OTher Of Negative Yards Gained In The First Half. The Offensive Line Couldn’t Afford Watson Enough Time To Allow Routes To Develop Downfield, Which Made Stefanski's Offense Predictable As The Commanders Could Just Sit On Underneath Routes and Force Watson To Work deep Allowing The Pass Rush Time To Work On Watson In The Backfield.

Thanks To this litany Of Factors The Browns Produced An Awful Execution of The Offensive Game. The Commander's Offense, Not Off To a Perfect Start Like In Weeks Past, But On multiple Notes Including Explosive Plays In The Run Game By Austin Ekeler, Who Broke Open A 50 Yard Run To Set The Commanders Up At The Foot Of The  Red Zone Before They Settled For A Field Goal. Watson Would Finish The First Half 6/14 For 37 Passing Yards And 50. 3 Passer Rating and The Play For Watson Didn’t Get Better After The Half. The Commanders Take Their Fourth Game Of The Season Completely Demolishing The Browns 34-13. The Browns Did Manage To Some Degree To Slow Down The Commander's Torrid Scoring In Second but This Game Ended Early  In The First Half. Watson Did Manage Better Than 50% Completion Percentage Finishing 15/28, 125 Passing Yards, 77.2 Passer Rating and That’s Despite Some Egregious Drops. The Browns’ Offense Produced Just One Drive Of More Than 30 Yards Gain, That Coming On A 54 Touchdown Drive Late In The Game. While Anydefense Doesn’t Need Much Talent To Overcome The Brown, The Commanders Don’t Have Too many Stand Out Names. The Defense Finished With Seven(7) Sacks, Linebacker Frankie Luvu  With 2.5 SACKS. The Offense Feels Nearly As Nameless But Jayden Daniels Finished 14/25 For 238 Passing Yards, One Touchdown, And One Interception On a Perfect 85.1 Passer Rating. Daniels Also Lead The Team In running with 82 yards On The Ground, Austin Ekeler Came Away With 6 Carries For 67 Yards On The Ground Brian Robinson Added Two Scores On The Ground And The Commanders Finished With A Well Balanced Over 200 Yards On The Ground and 200 Yards Through The Air.

Dolphins Vs. Patriots

In Week Five the Patriots and Dolphins renew Their Division Rivalry Both Win Teams in the Throes Of A Disappointing Year. Sure Many Expected A Down Year For The Patriots and That Their Opening Week Win Would Steve An aberration For A Long and So Far Thats What Fans Have Received the Patriots Have scored the Second Least Points In Football and the Fifth worst point Differential. The Defense Has Also Regressed Outside OfTop Corner Christian Gonzales Picking Up Where He Left Off After His Rookie Year Got Truncated By InjuryBut he’s Shut Opponents Down. The TheCulprit In Football Thats Scored Less Points Than The Patriots, The Dolphins. Mike McDaniels Paved New Roads For Offense In His First Two Years In Miami But Without Tua The Dolphins Have Struggle To Evolve The Offense Because The Dolphins Have The Worse Point Differential In Football. The Dolphins Also Have An Overpriced Defense, Now Ranked 30th In DVOA, One Below The Patriots At 29th. New England However Doesn’t Have The highest Paid Corner Or One Of the Highest Defensive End In Bradley Chubb still currently Recovering From A KNEE injury.  In Week Five The Dolphins Pick Up A win Over The Patriots 15-10 Ending A Three Game Slide and Extending The Patriots Losing Streak To Four Games. This Game Probably Left Bad Tastes In The Mouths Of FNS for Either Team. The Dolphins Suffered A Litany Of Turnovers Including An Interception  By Christian Gonzales and Multiple Turnovers On Special Teams  Miscues Like Botched Snaps and Missed Field Goals. The Patriots Despite Holding A Lead For Most Of The Game, Really From The First Quarter To Late In The Fourth Quarter, Suffered Way Too Many Penalties( 12 Penalties Total for 105 Yards) In The Loss. The Patriots Produced a Strong Performance On The Ground With 151 Yards Total, 7.9 Rush, and The Lone 33 Yard Run For A Touchdown. Jacoby Brissett Finished With Another Porous Performance In The Passing Game, 18/34 For 160 Passing Yards And A Passer Rating Of 65.8. Under Mayo This Patriots Team has become The Antithesis Of What We Know Of The Many teams under Belichick, An Team With a Lack Of Identity, The Patriots Offense Especially along Offensive Line Couldn’t Grab A Hold Of Game Blocking Unless They Grabbed Hold Of Defenders.

Jerod Mayo Made The Correct Choice To Continue To Roll Out Jacoby Brissett At Quarterback Despite Patriot Offensive Struggles And Despite a 1-3 Start To Season For The Team. Mayo Cited That Brissett’s Play, That The Former Patriot Back Up Can Handle A Better Ultimately Determined  The Team’s Choice To Continue With Him As The Number One. Jacoby Playing This Role Matters Because He Got Thumped Hard By The 49ers In Week 4 And While He’s Just As Much Human As Drake Maye I Prefer Brisset Taking Those Blows Rather Than Maye. The 2024 Patriots Just Don’t Have The Supporting Cast  On Offense Or The Defense, For that Matter, Of Last Season To Support A Young Quarterback. Truthfully I’d Sit Maye Another Season As This New Era Searches For An Identity.

The Patriots Face The Dolphins, Dealing With Their Own Starting Quarterback Problem.

Cardinals Vs. 49ers

A Trouble Second Half Lead To The 49ers Blowing A Two Touchdown Lead In Second Half Opening The Door For The Cardinals To Comeback A Snatch A Harrowing 24-23 Victory. The Niners Showed Both Sides Of Themselves This Season In This Game.  After Their Harrowing 41 Point Outburst Against The Rams Two Weeks Ago The Cards Offense Haven’t Scored 40 Points In Their Last Two Outings Combine And Things Didn’t Always Look Great For The Offense This One Either. The Cards Got On The Board First In Just Plays With Fifty Yard Scamper For A Touchdown Just Two Plays Into The Game For The Cardinals. Brock Purdy Started The Game Pretty Erratically, Missing A Couple Of Throws Into The Boundary On The 49ers Opening 3 And Out. Purdy’sSomewhat Flippant Play Would Come Into Effect Later On Into The Game.

The Next 49ers Drive He Hit Brandon Aiyuk For A 53 Yard Catch And Run. The Niners Would Drive Deeper Into Cardinals Territory Before Settling For A Field Goal. Purdy Would Get His Touchdown. Aiyuk Has Lived Up To His Big Contract So Far This Season But between The First Two Drives Of The  Games He Caught For Passes For 90 Yards On His Way To 8 Catches For 147 Receiving Yards. George Kittle Pull In The Niners First Touchdown On Four Yard slant. The Cardinals Would Try To Author A Response But a Drop Touchdown By Trey McBride Would Force The Cards To Settle For A Field Goal. The Cards Would Drive Again, Putting Together Another Field Goal Opportunity After The Niners Take A 3-Point Lead. The Niners Would Get their second And Last Touchdown On Special Teams thanks To A Blocked Punt By Cornerback Deomodore Lenoir With About 5 Minutes Left To Close The Half. With Less Than Five Minutes To Go The Cardinals Would Spark Another Solid Drive Working Their Way Down To The 49ers 24 Yard Line. How Kyler tries to Throw A Pass into The Flat Unaware of Nick Bosa Dropping Down Into Coverage and The Most Fortunate Half Of Football End With a Field And A 23-10 Lead. The Cardinals Had Something Going Against The Niners Defense and When Several of Purdy’s Passes Turn The Other Way The Cards Would Earn The Advantage. In the Second Half, The Niners failed to Score Another Point And suffered three Turnovers, Including Two Interceptions,  A Fumble Turnover, And A failed fourth-down conversion. The Cardinals Offense Would Capitalize On All Of The Niners Offensive Miscues Scoring On Three Straight Drives After Punting To Start The Half and Ending The Game On 14 Point Unanswered Run To Win 24-23 To Drop The Niners To 2-3 and Halt Their two Game Losing Streak. The Niners Don’t Feel Like A Potential

Super Bowl Threat Instead They Feel Like A Team Still Figuring Each Step Out As The Games Progress, Sloppy Games Happen But Arizona Had Their Way Through Several Drive. Kyler Murray Finished 19/30 195 Yards Passing and 7 Carries For 83 Yards On The Ground. Micheal Wilson Caught 5 Passes For 78 Receiving Yards Butreceiver Elijah Higgins Came Down With the Cards Only Passing Touchdown. The Offense Looks Built To Beat Some Teams But Not Built To Defeat Other Teams. Arizona's Offense Still Needs More Speed Rather Than The Possession Receivers They Currently  Have On The Roster.

New York Giants Vs. Seattle Seahawks

Daniel Jones is On A Mission To Prove He’s More Than Just The Guarding Hand That Delivers The Ball Off To His Play Makers Malik Nabers and Devin Singletary are Both Out In This Game Against The NFC West Leading But The G Men Pull Away Late In This One 29-20. This Game Got Off To An Inauspicious Start For The Giants. First Daniel Jones Stumbles To The Ground and The Giant's Offense Nearly Losses A Fumble. The Offense Recover The Seahawks Defense Fast And Well Rounded Falls For A Screen Play On Back To Back Plays, One Run converting A Big 3rd& 17. The Giants Drive To The End Zone Only to Fumble On The Reach Out. The Seahawks Defender Secured The Fumble And Returns The Ball 101 Yards For A Seahawks Touchdown And An Early 7-0 Lead. A Play That Deflating Would Usually Leave An Offense In Disarray. The Giants Would Bounce Back With The Unflappable Courage Of A Veteran Who Has Scene Too Much To Let One Define A Game. Jones Looks Good on The Drive And Eventually, The Giants Would  Respond to Drive On Their Third Possession Of The First Half.  An 8 Play, 81 Yard Drive Daniel Jones Would Hit Wide Receiver Wan’Dale Robinson on A Seven Yard Slant Route As  Robinson Took Off To The End Zone. Jones Would Finish 257 Passing Yards, Two Touchdowns A Great Job Of Blending Both Short Passes, Line Scrimmage With Passes Over Head, Finishing a game With -3.3 Air Yards To The Sticks, Indicating Daboll Didn’t take The Leash But Jones Still Optimized His Opportunities. The New York  Pass Rush Also Broke Out In This Game. The Seahawks Have One Primary Weakness On Offense The Protection. Brian Burns, Dexter Lawrence, Kayvon Thibodeaux, And Co. Wreck several Seahawks Drives Racking Up Around Seven(7) Sacks three By Lawrence From The Interior. The Seahawks Had A Drive completely derailed.

By Two Sacks In the Second Half. Both Teams Suffered One Fumble But The Lack Of Conversion Hampered The Seahawks Offense Who despite Averaging  9.3 Yards On The Ground Only Rushed The Ball 11 Times With Geno Smith Leading The Way With 4 Carries For 72 Yards. Smith Also Threw 28/40 For 284 Passing Yards and one Touchdown.

Down Three late In The Fourth Quarter The Seahawks Line Up For A Field Goal That Would Essentially Tie The Game 23 However Giants Linebacker, Former top 10 Isaiah Simmons Leaps Over The Protection Blocking The Field Goal Resulting in A Giants Touchdown.  The Giants Proved They’re More Than Just Some Of Two Pieces To Make Their Offense. Rookie Tyrone Tracy Rushed For 129 Yards On 18 Carries, 7.2 Yards Per Carry.
