Takeaways From Week One Of The NFL Season.

Like The Cowboy's Defense, I Think I Have All Ends Covered.

Only Cowboys Fans And Columnists Make Outlandish Declarations Like "Super Bowl" Contender After A Big Win in Week One, Only For The reality To Round The Corner in Week Nine And Remind Everyone These Cowboys won't change The Script Of Any Other Cowboys. The Cowboys Won The Weekend With a 40-0 Paddling Of The Giants, But The Boys Outclassed This Giants Team Everyone Expects To Regress. The Pressure Just Rolled In Like A Fog Over The Giant's Offensive Line. However, The Cowboys Produced Tons Of Pressure Like This Before, Against The Giants Last season, and Still Go On To Disappoint.

Justin Fields Looked Bad Yesterday. He Spent Most Of The Day Trying To Toe Around Defenders, But He Found No Room To Groove Against A Talented Packers Defense. The Bears Had No Hope Of A Run Game Outside Of Justin Fields Tormenting The Defense With Elusiveness. Jordan Love's impressive Performance Only exacerbated What I Saw From the Field. Love Didn't Look Like He Tried To Hard To Put Up Three Touchdowns, 245 And A Passer Rating Of 123.2.

Bills Vs. Jets

I'm Rooting For Zach Wilson As He Steps In Once Again For The Third In His Career Takeover As The Jets Starter. Call My Backing Of Wilson My Affinity For The Underdog More Than Anything I've Witnessed From Him As A Product Of Football. Wilson's Takeover Of The Offense Under Such Unfortunate Circumstances For Aaron Rodgers And Everyone Who Wanted To Watch Him Play For The Jets This Season. All Of The Preseason, The Ads, The Endorsements, and The Debates All Vanish. If You're The Jet A Mist Of Dejection Settles Over The But What More Can You Expect From A Near 40-Year-Old Not Named Brady. But Worse For The Jets, They Placed Aaron Rodgers Behind A Offensive Line Made Of Aging Players And Prospects Still Vying To Prove Themselves As Credible Components To A Winning Roster In The League. The Whole "Nightmare" Just Seemed Predictive From The Start, But We Hope For The Best. He's Done For The Year And For The "Foreseeable" Future. The Jets Era Of Aaron Rodgers Ends With Zeroes, A Whole Lot Of Dollar Signs, and Expectations Unfulfilled. Zach Wilson Took Over, And He Looked Skittish. He'd Never Seen A Settled Pocket He Didn't Want To Escape From And Roll Out Into Chaos, Constantly Fleeing Pursuit Like The Token Damsel Under Duress.

Through Every Play, The Jets Ran Wilson Had To Move Off the Platform To Make His Target. Wilson Finished 14/21 140 Yards, One Touchdown, One Interception, and 6.7 Yards Per Attempt. Wilson Can Make Plays When He Decides To Settle and Not Throw His Offense into A Frenzy, As We Witnessed On His Final Drive. If The Rishing Game Stays consistent, The Jets Shouldn't Have To Rely On Zach Wilson As Much. Breece Hall Wasted No Time Announcing His Triumphant Return To Football. Right Out Of The Gate, He Took The Bills For 23 Yards In One Rush Attempt. In a Few Series, Breece Broke Into The Open Field For 83 Yards On a Back Run That Could've Gone To the House If He Had Another Gear In Him.

Hall Finished With 10 carries for 127 yards( most Of Which He Produced In The First Half Before The Jets Fell Down One Touchdown, 10-3 But Breece Getting His First Major Action In Over A Year showed Why He Generated Such Buzz Last Season. The Bills Lost this game For Themselves. With A Tough Win In Hand, Superman, Josh Allen Tried Too Much to Achieve Too Much, And In all Of His Power, Chaos Broke Out. Allen Attempted To Force All-Pro Wide Receiver Stefon Diggs And Generate Three Interceptions, which must Mean The Rumors Of His Threatening Departure Hold Weight Over The Offense. Diggs Came Away with 10 Catches,102 Yards, and 13 Targets When No One Else On The Team Had More Than 4 receptions. Most Of Diggs Late Game Work Came Against The Jets Second Corner, DJ Reed. Two Of The Three Receptions Diggs Failed To Come Down With Safety Jordan Whitehead Picked Off. Allen Expressed His Frustrations, Letting Off A Palpable Sigh after The Game, Admitting He "Forced" The Ball Downfield.

The NFL Team Favored To Win Usually Lose The Game Before The Play That Ends The Contest Strike. Outside Of A Few big Plays From Breece Hall And Dalvin Cook, The Bills Defense Didn't Let Up, and The Pressure Swammed On Zach Wilson Almost Every Down. Leonard Floyd, Gregory Rousseau, Jordan Philips Generated 26 Pressures On The Day. But In A Game When One Knockout Punch Or One swing Change Momentum, Wilson Found Jets Receiver Garrett Wilson In The Endzone. Wilson Put The Ball In The Air, And Garret Made A A Play. The Jets Gave The Bills' Offensive Line Trouble. As A Result, Josh Allen Scrambled, Producing 36 Yards On 6 Carries, But On The First Of Over Time On Produced Three Yards. I Can't Fault Allen For Taking Onus On The Lost Because When They win, He's The Catalyst Behind Their Wins.

The Jets lose Rodgers And Win The Game, Or At Least Have The Game Handed To Them By The Bills's Offense. I Wouldn't Declare One Loss On Opening Week A nail In The Coffin For The Bills, Who Will Look To Bounce Back. Still, Stefon Diggs Made A Point About How Chances To Compete In This League Slip Through The Creases Of Year Football. I Can't Feasibly Support Or Validate The Bills As A Contender Unless They Solidify A rushing Attack That's Not.

Josh Allen Scrambling. James Cook is Now The Starting Back, Finished With 46 Yards And A Tough Defense. When The Bills Needed To Run The Clock Out, They Still Had To Rely On The Run. The Offense Couldn't Muster Movement. "We've Gotta Learn From This," Coach McDermott Said After The Game. The Bills Face A Favorable Matchup In The Raiders Next Season. The Jets Super Bowl Hopes, FarFetched Super Bowl Hopes, Went Down, Now Team Aims For At Least A Redeemable Playoff Run, And They're Off To Good Start.

The First Week Of Tye NFL Season Always Feels Like A Test Drive Or A Trial Run. No, Thats not The "Preseason." The Preseason Has A Feel For Itself. As The Chiefs Lined Up To Face The Lions, The Defending Champion Didn't Look Across The Field At A Team From Detroit With Something To Prove, The Fourth Best Offense From A Year Ago, A Fierce Pass Rush The Cheifs Also Faced a Turnstile Of Turmoil, "It Feels Different" Al Micheals Comments On The Absence Of Travis Kelce. The Chief Feel His Absence On The First Drive Of The Game. The Chiefs Needed A Few Short Sprints FromPatrick Mahomes To Keep The Drive Alive, But The Chiefs Arrived at The End Zone.

Lions Vs. Chiefs

The Lions Drew First Blood. For Everyone Wondering What Every Football Player's Favorite Offense From Last Could Bring To Football As a Sequel To The Special Showcase, The First Drive Gave Us A Brilliant Image. The Lions Elite Offensive Line Gifts The Offense The Advantage Of Running Whatever Scheme They Want in Formations, Including Whichever Runs They Favor. The Lions Took The Endzone Each Of Their First Two Drives. Then A Well-Timed Turnover, A Force Fumble, Turned The Team's Approaching The Red Zone To Add More Points On the Board Upside. Until That Point, Five minutes left In the Second Quarter, Dan Campbell's Game Plan Of Negating The Chief's Offense By Eating Away the Clock And Keeping Mahomes On The Sideline Keep The Lions In Control Of The Game, But The Defense Bail Them Out. For The First Time, Mahomes Couldn't Work His Legs To Release The Chiefs From Another Third Down. Aidan Hutchinson Startee Imposing Himself on The Game. He Spun Donavan Smith To the Floor On One Third Down That Mahomes Converted The Next Time In Second; His Pressure Forced An Errant Throw. The Defense Constantly forced Mahomes Into Third And Long, and Hutchinson's Pressure Continued To Disrupt Patrick Mahomes's Flow, Without His Top Target Mahomes Had, Without His Usual Strong Offensive Line Mahomes Less. Hutchinson Torch Chiefs Blockes All Night, Every Feature a Long Third Down. The Lions Pass Rush Levy 17 Pressures Against Mahomes, None Of Which Landed Home.

Regardless of Mahomes Will Mahomes, How Do You Respond When Everyone's Questioning How You'd Play Without You Top Gun, Mahomes Road The Shotgun Like A Master, Five Completions Later, 96 Yards and A Goal Line Strike. The Chief's Offense Strike A 14-7 Lead. Steve Spagnola Provided An Interesting Mind To Match Against Ben Johnson Play Calling. The Chiefs Apply Pressure To Goff On Several Occasions, But The Blitzes Didnt Bother Goff Too Much. What Bothered Jared Goff, The Moment. With The Opportunity To Seasl The Game, One Fourth And Two For A Conversion With Maybe Three Guys Rushing, Goff Has A Perfect Alley Way To Tuck It In Run, He Attempts A Pass Over The Hands Of Leaping Defenders Into Coverage, Only To Have The Ball Deflected. The Lions Defense Overshadowed For Much Of Last Season. Even Liability Played a significant role. If I Recall, Everyone Of The Chiefs Drive Features Some Third and Long And Pressure Impact Mahomes On Maybe Three of Them. The New Offensive Line For The Chief Met Their First Challenge and After Losing, Must Face The Drawing Board. I Like What I Saw From Lions' Rookie Linebacker Jack Campbell, Who Played Great Coverage and Deflected A Pass That Preceded The Interception By Brian Branch. Nobody Drafts Linebackers In The First Round Anymore, But Campbell's Play inspired me. Brian Branch, The Second Safety, Intercepted Mahomes Off Of A Tipped Pass And Took The Pick For A Touchdown. He Left The GAME due to Cramps. Sam LaPorta, Tight End, The Other Second Rounder, Looks Like A Solid Replacement To TJ Hockenson. LaPorta Caught almost Everything Thrown His way. He Went 5/5 For 39 Yards. The Lions Opening Up Offense More Will Create Lots More Opportunities For Him.

Lion's Safety Brian Branch Caught a Tipped Pass Off Of The Hands Of Chiefs Wide Receiver Kadavius Tooney And Took The Ball The Opposite Way For A Pick Six. Tooney Suffered A Miserable Night With Drops, Three Total, Two of Which Most Consider Perfectly Thrown Balls. Now We've Witnessed Why The Giants Traded Him Away So Flippantly A Year Ago. The 2020 First Rounder Played Sparingly Last season And Now Getting His Opportunity On National. He Didn't Look Prepared. Mahomes Reinforced His Belief In Tooney After The Game.

"I have trust in [Toney]," Mahomes said After. "He missed a lot of training camp, and obviously he wanted to play and fought [during] rehab hard so he could play, and stuff's not always going to go your way." (ESPN)

The Chiefs Looked Good For Stretches, Especially Going Into The Second Half And The Third Quarter. Mahomes Looked Poised To Put The Game Away, Stretching Into a Tie Once More For The Lead. The Chiefs Used The Full Corpus Of Their Pass Catchers, But We've Elevated To A Status Of Games That Matter, And Everyone Still Needs to Reach That Level. Mahomes Finished The Night 21/39 For 226 Passing Yards, With Most Of His Damage Coming Through That Second Quarter Barrage. The Chiefs Never Established a Run Game, But Mahomes Scrambles Generated 45 Yards On The Ground In 6 Attempts. Mahomes Targeted 12 Different Receivers, And While Some Egalitarian Offensive Mind Might Think Highly Of Him, The MVP Needs To Settle in On A Handful Of Targets. Receivers Need Rhythm As Well, And Now We See What Chiefs Sacrificed and The Dangers Of The Constant Roster Turnover, Rapport. Time Can Fix The Mending Bond, But Tonight, The Blend Of All Those Bodies Fell short of expectations.

The Lions They Finished Exactly Where They Expected Them To Finish.

"We expected to win this game." Said Lions Head Coach Dan Campbell. Campbell Sure Coached as He Expected, And We should expect the Lions As Well. On The Second Lions Drive Of The Game, Campbell Went With A Fake Punt Call From His 17 Yard Line. The Aggression Only Started, Every Fourth Down For The Lions Felt Like A Test Of Resolve. Despite Mixed Results Of Sucess, Campbell Knew The Only Way To Beat The Best Quarterback In The League, Take The Chiefs By The Horn.

On Defense, The Lions Didn't Let Down The Aggression Either. With The Coverage Down Field Somewhat Spotty, Dan Brought Pressure Against Patrick Mahomes, who Thrives Under Heavy Rush On The Crucial Last Drive. But Campbell Trust His Team To Come Out In These Moments. This Season, I'm Rooting For Jared Goff. I ultimately Abel He Has What's Needed: Leadership and Talent To Lead This Team Through The North, But This Performance Left Me Wanting More. "I Hope Quarterback Isn't Defining Me, And I Could Be More Than That," Goff Remark In A Q&A Podcast With The QB Room. Yes, Goff is more Of A Quarterback. Goff Had Some Great Moments, Like The First Touchdown Drive Where He Link zip With Super Slot Threat Amon-Ra St. Brown, Josh Reynolds—Who's A Lot Bigger On TV Than I Thought—And Just Orchestrated A Smooth Drive To The First Down Of The Season. But He Recoiled in A Game Where He Could've Went Gun For Gun With Patrick Mahomes. The Lions Played well On Offense. They Prioritized Efficiency On Third Down and a high Success Rate On First And Second Down, But Goff Stepped Away From The Moment. The Wide Receiver Duo Of St.Brown And Reynolds Lead The Team With 8 And 6 Yards, Respectively, For 71 Yards And 80 Yards, 2 Yards Per Route Ran For Amon-Ra, and Nearly 3 For Josh Reynolds. The Lions Offense Still Starts With The Runningabcks, And Honestly, After Falling In Love With D'Andre Swift And Jamal Williams From Last Year, Watching Jahmyr Gibbs And David Montgomery Takeover Felt Strange. I Like Them Both, But The Style Contrast Really Strikes Across The Mind. The Lions Wanted To Establish The Run Game To Boot Up Jared Goff As A Passer. Goff Finished The Game 4/7 For 72 Passing Yards.

Bucs Vs. Vikings

For NFC Contending Teams, no Better Teams Offers A Perfect Litmus Test Than Facing The Bucs. The Bucs Have A Tier Two competitor Narrative, A Plus Foe On The way To The Big Boss. The Bucs Still Boost An Impressive Roster From Their Days Of Contention, Especially In The Secondary. Your Passing Game Will Get Challenged By Carlton Davis, Jameal Dean, And Antoine Winfield Jr. The Vikings Get The First Test Of Challenge For Their Offense Early In The Season, And No Doubt The Vikings Fell Victim Early. Kirk Cousin Suffered Trying To Find Stability Under Pressure And Windows Downfield As The Vikes First Drive Fell Flat On The First, Drive Then Justin Jefferson and TJ Hockenson Started Breaking Through Holes. And The Offense Looked Poised To Move In, But The Bucs started Clamping Down. On Short Passes, The Secondary Broke Quickly. A blitz By Antoine Winfield forces Kirk Into his Second Fumble In The First Quarter. Every Snap The Viking WHO looked Like The Favorites, Build, Got Met With Staunch Resistance By This Well Coach Defensive Team. Todd Bowles Had A Pressure Plan In Place For Kirk. The Pressures Came Straight Through The Middle, The Softest Spot On The Vikings Offensive. The Bucs Stole A Sure Touchdown With A RED zone Pick. Despite A Tied Game At The Half Kirk's Still

Hung 200 Plus Yards On The Bucs.

The Lost Of Dalvin Cook Poke In As Well. Cook declined Last Year, But as A Star Back, His Presence Demanded Attention. Kirk Had A Response. To The Credit Of The Vikings quarterback, He Sticks To The Game Plan. After taking all That Thunder Under Pressure, Kirk Responded Hitting 12 Straight Passes Before The Vikings Stall Out In The Endzone Settling For A Field Goal.

I Kept Waiting For The Vikings To Get Rookie Receiver Jordan Addison Involved. O'Connell Ran Addison On A Orbit Motions You A Shot Loomed For Addison And He Got The Call. Jordan Took a Post Route 39 Yards To The House. The Vikings Defense Looked Solid For A While. When You Face Baker Mayfield, You Have To Look Because What Other Choice Do You Have. Baker Hosted A "3 and Out" Fest In the First Half. He Sailed Passes, Passes Got Batted Down A Mayfield Specialty, And Downfield Must Have Had A Shroud Covering Over Because He Didn't Have Much Interest In Looking Field. Then Baker Completes Two Big Passes, First Connecting With Chris Godwin And The Big Touchdown To Mike Evans, Tampa's Two Big PlayMakers. Despite A Litany Of Incompletions and Misreads, Baker Needed Three Throws To Re-solidify His Image As A Starting Quarterback In The NFL. The Bucs Snatch A 17-10. The Vikes Responded with A Successful Red Zone Drive. Kirk Connected With Alexander Madison Short, Madison Completed The Rest. The Starting running back didn't Get Much On The Ground But Broke A Tackle And Dive Towards The End zone. The Bucs Responded With a Field To Make The Matter, But A Late Final Drive By The Offense(after A Vikings Punt) Sealed The Win. Baker Converted Two Tough Third Downs To Put The Game Away, But The Defense Won This Matchup. Baker's Twelve (12)Yard Completion To Chris Godwin Almost Mirrored The Pass Breakup By Carlton Davis That The Vikings Failed To Achieved On The Drive Prior. Kirk's 347-Yard Performance Felt Sedated. You Wouldn't Have Known He Had One Of The Best Games Of The Weekend Statistically. He Got His Star Receiver Off To a Good Start. Jefferson Took Out Some Of His Frustrations Of The Offense After He Levied Christian Izien With a Tackle After A Pick. Jefferson Took Home Nine passes for 150 yards, 16,7 Per Catch. Again, The Vikings Didn't Feel Like They Had That Much Of Dominant Play. Addison Added Four Catches For 61 Yards And One Touchdown. TJ Hockenson And KJ Osborn Had No Finn Working The Short yardage with Those Menacing Tampa Linebackers Lurking Over The Middle. Baker's Pedestrian 173 Looks Heroic In Light Of The Bucs Win. With No Run Game To Speak Of, A Simplified Offense Of RPO, And Side Reads, The Bucs Receivers Won, And Baler Took Advantage.

Browns Vs. Bengals

Wide Receiver Somewhat Contracts "Dominated" (A Little) Much Of The Last Minute Headlines Ahead Of Opening Sunday. Deals And Dollars Dominated So MUch of the Offseason, From The Runningbacks To The Quarterback Taking Turns Changing The Ranges NFL Value The Poistion Even With The Risk To Their Bodies and Ultimately Their Careers, Players Like Justin Jefferson And Tee Higgins Still Have Little Reason To Agree To Terms On A New Deal Before Season End. Both 2020 Draft Alums Have An Established Reputation Across The League As True Number Ones, Elite Top 10 Talents At Their Position. A Down Doesn't Hurt Their Credibility. Contracts Completed Today Won't Have Any Baring On This Cap Only Once The Extension Kick In The Team Fiscal Figures Adjust. The Bengals Just Wrapped Up Joe Burrow With The Largest Contract In NFL History, They're In No Rush To Rock The World With Another Massive Extension. Most Players Like To Complete Contracts Before Play Begins Because Football Gets Dangerous And Flees Danger. For My Money, Which Has No Baring In This Matter, Tee Feels Destine For Another Team. Some Guys Only Show Up With The Money, But Tee Has The Job On His Mind Come Sunday. Tee's Intentions didn't Matter.

Let's Hold Off On The Deshaun Watson Talk. The Coverage Unit For Cleveland Balled And Didn't Let Too Many Balls Out. Greg Newsome, Denzel Ward, Morten Emerson, Grant Delpit Kept Joe Burrow In Check. Together, They All Posted At least one Pass Breakup Against The Highest Paid Player In League History. Burrow Put Up 14/31 for 82 yards. I've Never Seen The Bengals Not have an Answer Since Maybe Week One Of Last season. When The Coverage Didn't Disrupt The Pass Rush Got Home. "When It Rains Like That, You Gotta Handle It And We Didn't." Joe Burrow Said After The Game. "It's One Week, And We've Got Sixteen More." The Bengals Have Corrected These Slows Starts Before. If You Want To Count A Team Out After One Loss, Skip Over The Bengals, Too Much Talent Here.

The Bengals Had No Offensive Success Outside Of One Field Goal. The Outcome Felt Like More Than The Rain, The Browns Wanted This Game More Than The Bengals.

"Nobody's Panicking," And Truthfully, Nobody Should Panic. Joey B pointed Out That The Bengals Needed Their Running Game Locked In To Survive The Terrain. The Bengals Had Nothing Going On The Ground. Joe Mixon had 13 Carries, 56 Rushing Yards 4.3 But Once The Browns Move Ahead With The Lead, The Run Faded Into Disuse. The Cleveland Defense Held, The Tee Higgins To Zero, Catches On The Day. Jamar Chase Faired A Little Better, Five Catches For 39 Yards. Offensively, The Brown Manage Much Better On The Ground Against The Forces Of The Terrain. Four Players Divided 206 of Rushing, Starting with Runningback Nick Chubb, Who Generated 106 Yards On 18 Carries 5.9 Per Carry. He Looked Like the Season Just Started, But He's In the Best Running back In The League Form Early. Chubb Pushed Out 55.6 Rush Yards Above Expected Brown's Quarterback Deshaun Watson Nearly Double Burrow In Passing Production Over 154 Passing Yards, One Touchdown And One Interception But He's Still Far From Anywhere Near Peak Form. This Performance Only adds Another Ledger To Watson's Most Forgettable Play As A Brown thus Far. He Made Several Good Reads, And The Elements Played a Factor, But The Win Mattered The Most. Myles Garret Sack Wrapped Up The Win For The Browns.

Patriots Vs. Eagles

The Patriots' Offense Looked Remedied For A Moment Under The New Influence Of Offensive Coordinator Bill O'Brien. The Patriots Ran The Ball, Picking Up First Down and Eating Of Chunks Of Real Estate Into The Eagles Territory. The Defense Held The Eagles To A Field Goal The Drive Earlier, And we Looked Like A Game On Our Hands; the Eagles Went Up 16-0 With 3 Minutes Left In The First Quarter. A Pick Six From Mac Jones Hushed The Momentum Of Strong Opening Drive. The Patriots Secondary Nearly Pitch A Perfect Game. After Devonta Smith scored The First Today, The Secondary Responded By Keeping Hurts In Check. Adrian Phillips, Jalen Mills, Christian Gonzales, and Co. Made Hurts One Of The Highest Paid Quarterbacks in The League Look Predated. Hurts Needed Three-Quarters Of Play To Reach 100 Yards Passing. He Took Over 3.26 Secs Time To Throw. The Cover had Him Scrambling All Day, Most Of Those Big Shot Attempts From Last Year; Hurts Couldn't Find The Spots Consistently On Sunday. The Patriots Had Coverage OptionS Even When Hurts Stayed Mobile, And For Most Of The Second Half, The Defense Held The Eagles too long; to The Dismay Of the Patriots, Jake Elliot Converted Each Time. He Made 50 Field Goals Look Pedestrian. The Eagles Just Held The Patriots From Striking Back. The Interception He Threw As A Result Of a Tip Pass; Jones Makes A Half-Hearted Effort To Make A Tackle Before Slay Break Frees Up Field For A Touchdown. But Too Much of What Jones Achieves On Fails To Lift And Move Beyond. The Offensive Script Looked Far More Robust, You Can Tell The Difference Between The Knock Off Coordinator Last Season And The "Real Deal" Of Bill O'Brien. You Can See The Plays Fit Together Like Puzzle Pieces, Like Tetris. Jones Makes Some Plays Happen, Both Of His Touchdown Were Impressive Throws To The Back Of The End Zone.

According To PFF, Jones Competed 7/14 for 104 yards and three touchdowns on passes thrown 10-plus yards downfield. Regardless, When The Patriots Need A Play, Jones Turns Into A Puppet Of The Script. He Makes Poor Decisions with The Ball, Throws A Screen Without Registering How The Defense Plans To Play Him, and Relies Too Much on His Playmakers In Moments. On the fourth 17, Jones Threw The Ball short Of The Stick Because That's What The Defense Gave Him. The Receiver Ultimately Drops The Pass, But Jones Needs To Lead That Pass Further Upfield. The Patriots Fall One Toe Drag From Upsetting The Eagles, But They Have A Team That Will Compete This Year. Jones Finished With 316 Passing Yards, Three Touchdowns, and 3.6 Completed Air Yards(He Leaned in On Yards After The Catch). Hunter Henry Picked Up A Beautiful Stab Grab Over The Middle, He Had Five Catches 56 Yards. Kendrick Bourne, Who Somehow Still Gets No Respect As A Receiver, Came Away With 6 Catches For 64 Yards and 10.7 receptions for Two Touchdowns. Jones Spread The Ball Around Aside From Bourne, Nobody Registered Double, and Each Receiver Walking Away With At least Six. Only Rookie Kayshon Boutte Came Away With No Catches, And Two Of Hi Targets Were Needed.

Rhamondre Stevenson Caught All His passes, Going 6/6 For 64 Yards, Mostly Screen And Yards After The Catch, 11.2 Per Reception. But He Struggled To Keep The Ground Game Alive, Just 12 Carries 25 Yard. Zeke Looked Spry In His Debut, Strong Runs Up The Middle. I Thought The Pats Signing Him So Late The Season Felt Excessive, and We'll See If He Can Continue To amass Steady Carrie's BUt. Aside From A Fumble, Zeke looks strong.

Jalen Hurts splayed The Background For The Defense on Sunday. The Patriot's Defense Handle Most Of What The Eagles Offered Except For Hurts's Ability To Extend The Play. The Eagles Generated Only 4.3 yards per pass( Thanks To Sacks). Hurts Finished 22/33, 170 Yards, 5.2, And One Touchdown. He connected with Devonta Smith and AJ Brown Downfield, Seven Catches Each 47 Yards For Smith 79 Yards. He Gave The Patriot's Man Coverage A Real Test And Left Christian Gonzales In The Mud On A Catch And Turn. He Looks Like A M8 BMW Out On The Field. Hurts Targeted Brown Well Down The Field 17.8 Targeted Air Yards. Jalen Showed Some Struggles To Move Off Of His Favorite Target, AS No One Else On The Field Had More Than Four Targets. The Eagles' Defense Put Jones In the Dirt twice. They Handle the Pat's Rushing Attack That Earlier On Kept The Game In Hand. Stretch and Wider Runs Did Give The Eagles Submarine Moving Defensive Line Some Trouble. The Two Turnovers The Philly Defense Forced Made The Difference.

Titans Vs. Saints

The Titans And The Saints Threw A "Ugly" And Ugly Usually Favor The Saints Who Came Away With The Victory 16-15. In A Game That Appears Like The Beginning Of The End Of Ryan Tannehill As A Starter, Sunday's Second Least Entertaining Game Unless You Like Interceptions, The End Score Made The Matchup Look More Competitive Than The Eyes Recall. In His First Game As A Saint, Carr Pulled With 305 passing yards Passing Thanks To His Uber Aggressive Play Style. He Finished With The Highest Intended Air Yards On Sunday, Which, In Translation, Means He Looked Down Field For Almost All Of His Passes In The one passing touchdown and The one interception. From What I've Seen From The Saints Will Resemble A Down Offense Because Carr Only Plays His Way. He Scraps Your Offense For His Intentions. The Saints Won Today, But I'm Not Too Confident With How Far This Team is In The South. His Counterpart, Ryan Tannehill, Looked Washed. Poor Quarterback Performance Doesn't Boil Down To A Horrendous Passer Rating(28.8), Taken Three Sacks, Barely Completing Less Than Half Your Passes (16/34). Still, Tannehill Just Looked Like The Poor Decisions He Made On Their Field. Like He Said, "Hey Guys, This Is Me Now." Tannehill Took Shots Into Triple Coverage With An Arm Certainly Well Passed That "Extra Mileage" Point In His Career. The Saints Got some Big Plays Down Field From Both Rasheed Shadid And Chris Olave. Olave Snatched 8 Of His 10 Catches For 110, Shaheed pulled In Five For 89, And A Touchdown As The Two Speedier Guys Gave The Tennessee Secondary Fits In Coverage. The Third Reincarnation Of Micheal Thomas Caught Five Passes For 61 Yards. The Saints Take The Win, But They Have Some Work ahead If They Plan To Match Atlanta Or Even Tampa. I Don't Know How Long Derrick Henry Will Last If His Offensive Line Keeps Letting Him Blown Up In The Backfield. If Tannehill Throws Another Another Offensive "Tantrum" Like This One, The Titans Will Have To Look Into Starting Another Option. Seasons Fall Apart, And The South Remains One Of The Divisions Everyone Expects To Come Down To The Wire. Is anyone Of The Wills, Will Levi's, Or Malik Willis? I Just Noticed Both Their Name "Will" Constituted Portions Of Both Player's Name.

Chargers Vs. Dolphins

Opening Night Of the NFL Season Won The Draw As The "First" Game, So You Expected Fans To Tune in, But The Chargers vs. the Dolphins Hold The Sign As The Most Anticipated Game Of Opening Weekend. Team In The League Had Answers For The Chargers High Octane Offense Only When The Chargers Said Hand Us The Drawing Board. Facing Off Against A Foe Cut From His Same Lineage(Shanahan Tree Guys), Brandon Staley Constructed A Plan To Pack The Middle and Force Tua To Play Over The Top And Into The Boundary. The Chargers' Defense Made Tua "uncomfortable" With the Looks And Shift He witnessed On Defense. Tua Finished With His Worse Game On Offense Of 10/28, 35%, 125 yards Through and a TD. But Defensive Strategy Could Fall To The Way As This Game Features Two Of The Most Potentially The Most Potent Offenses In Football. The Chargers Can Pose the Same Explosive Threat With Keenan Allen and Mike Williams. This Time, In The First Half, the Dolphin's defensive game plan looks to Impose A Will Over The Chargers. The Bolts Came Out Of The With Just Over 200 Yards Of Offense Compared To Miami's Over 300. The cHargers Answered The Call. Coming Out Of The Half, The Chargers Author A Slow But Effective Drive Curtailed By Two Dolphins Pass Interference Penalties On XAvien Howard, putting The Chargers In The Endzone And In The Lead. The Chargers Only Averaged Around 6 Yards Per Play. Still, they Somehow Managed 30 Points While The Dolphins Far OutPaced Their Opponents At Over 8 Per Play And Multiple Explosive Passes. The Best Defense Against The Dolphins Start with Keep The Ball Out Of Their Hands. Kellen Moore Usually Deploys A Deep PlayBook, And He Walks Justin Herbert Through Multiple 10 Plus Play Drives That All Result in Score. Herbert Just Worked His Way Through The Dolphin's Coverage. A Dolphins Tunroved Lead To The Chargers First Points On The Boards. Soon, What Started Off As A Rigorous First Half Launched Into A Second Half of Offensive Land Mines. Suddenly, The Dolphins Shook Off Two Turnovers And Just Hit The Strike Button. The Chargers' Defense Retcon The Old Plan Of Protecting The Middle Of The Field, The Dolphins' Quickness Still Opened Major Gashes. The Dolphins Ran Hill On Deeper Overs And Motions Pre That Pushed Deeper Than The Chargers Linebackers Were Willing Or Just Not Fast Enough To Sink Down On.

Mike McDaniels Came Prepared For What Everyone Expected The Chargers To Throw At Him. Defenses Can Only Defend The Dolphins' Offense In So Many Ways, And The Mind Of McDaniels Will Exploit Your Vulnerability He Ultimately Found In The Chargers Middle. Motions On Offense Makes The Defense Declare Whether Man or Zone. Once Tua Recognizes The Coverage Responsibilities. Some Of Tua's Passes Over The Middle Whistled Throw A Thicket Of Defenders are really Impressive Stuff. The Dolphins Produced 16 Explosive Plays, 6 Big Plays From Tyreek Hill On A Massive Day. The Dolphins Used Motion A Ton, But No Matter How Much You Watched Them, No One As The Personnel To Compete With That Level Of Speed.

The Chargers Started Flooding Bodies To the Middle, Forcing Tua To Work The Boundary, But That Backfired. Throwing The Ball Into The Boundary Might Challenge Tua, But Playing Tyreek Hill On One Always Leverages Back Into Miami's Favor. The Chargers Tried Tyreek Twice On One On The boundary and got Blasted Both Times For Touchdowns. The Chargers Took A 34-30 Late Into The Fourth, But The Dolphins Rode Another Wave Of Explosive Plays. Tua Took Two Swings To Tyreek, One For 47 Yards and Another For 4 Yards. The Dolphins Defense Didn't Live Up To Expectations, Still Not Full Strength, Still Saved The Best For Last. Two Sacks, One Hurry On The Drive For Chargers Sealed The Deal. Tua Had A Day He Couldn't Believe Bis 466 yards Really Effortlessly. Tua's Big Day Fell Just Three Yards Short Of His Career High The 469 Yards Versus Baltimore In Week Two Of Last Season But Gave Tua The Fourth Opening Performance According To Numbers The Palm Beach Post. Even Short Of His Career High, This Felt Like One Of His Most Complete Performances, with a 10.4 A Pass, 3 Touchdowns, and 110 Passer Rating.

The Chargers Lost, Obviously, But They Stayed In This Game Until The Avery End. Kellen Moore Brought A Gun To A Bomb Fight Metaphorically And In The Send Better Execution Won. The Team Playing A Second Year Under The Same

The coordinator Played Better Offensively. The Chargers Remain Skeptical. Aside From One Interception JC Jackson Continues To Validate The Worries Teams Have When Paying Big Money To Positions Like Cornerbacks. A Position In Football Slowly Becoming More And More Volatile. He Produced A Bad Penalty Before The Half That Resulted In A Dolphin's Field Goal And Lead Before The Half. Jackson Saw 8 Targets Gave Up Three Catches For 99 Yards, And The Chargers Finished With The Worse Coverage Grade Of The Weekend According To PFF. The Chargers Produced Zero Sacks And just 17 Pressures Compared To The Dolphins, Who notched 18 And 4 Sacks. The Defense Has To Produce More. The Chargers Shell Out a Lot of Coins For Joey Bosa And Kahlil Mack Not To Produce Sacks. Both teams Have Gotten Off To Propitious Starts, Despite The Outcome of which the Team Will Continue To Build. I still Don't Think Tua possesses the Best DownField Arm Talent by way Of Force. So many of His Throws Could Turn The Other way If Better Defenders Entered The Throwing Window, And Teams should Challenge Him TO Throw Deep More often.

Rams Vs. Seahawks

Forgive Me For Allowing One Losy Season. Make Me Forget That The Man Who The Rams Start at Quarterback ONce Reign Over The Football. Matthew Stafford Made His Exhibit A For His Argument For Comeback Player Of The Year. I Wrote The Rams Off Before The Season Even Started. Time And Injuries Raided The Roster Of All Of Their Treasures. Stafford Look Cooked Even In The Brief Moments He Played Last Season. All-Pro Cooper Kupp Landed On The Inactive List, And Now The Rams Rostwer Stand Without A Wide Receiver Worth Naming, At Least Before The Game, Facing The Improve Seahawks. Opening Day Aside, I Assume One Of These Team would Walk Away With A Divisional Statement Win. Stafford Proved His Arm Talent Still Ranks Aiming for The Best, And The Rams Sixteen Play Drive Showed all The Markings Of His Ability. Stafford Completed Multiple Passes On Third Down To Keep The Drive Alive As The Rams Drove Into Scoring Position. Running Back Kyren Williams Score The First Down Of The Game. Sean McVay Called MasterClass Of A Game Working With Mostly "Scraps" Leftover From His Super Bowl Run. Cam Akers At Running, Tyler Higbee At Tight End, And Van Jefferson At Wide Receiver. Snatching An Unlikely Win From A Preying and Much Improve Division Foe Some Unknown Talents Need To Step Up.

Guys Like Tutu Atwell And Puka Nucua Step Up Major. Nucua, In His Rookie Debut, Caught 10 Passes For 119, And He Just Ate A lot Of Grass Over The Middle Of The Field. According To Next Gen Stats, He Caught 6 Passes For 64 Yards, But He Caught A Big Near The Boundary. Seattle Played So Much Drop Zone In Fear Of Stafford Hitting Them Deep Over The Top. Stafford Connected With Atwell Down field On A Big Third Play To Set Another Rushing Touchdown and Put The Rams Back Ahead, 14-13. Like Card Dealer With A High Roller, Stafford and The Rams's Offense Just Kept Son dealing. The Throws Just Came Off Easy As Stafford Used Different Launch Angles, Platforms, And Higher Trajectory Throws On His Way to Going 24/38 338 Yards, Setting Up All Three Of the Ram's Rushing And Three Field Goals. The Rams, Only Slightly Less Impressed Me, Holding a Bit of Time, Throw Magnate Geno Smith To 112 Yards 4.3 An Attempt, Sacking Him Twice. The Rams' Secondary, Most Assumed Would Fall To Ribbons With Jalen Ramsey, More The Withstand Seattle's Downfield Attack They Stymied One Of The Most Explosive Teams In The League.
