Week 17 Takeaways.

Week 17—

It Took A Moment,  For The New Year Buzz To Subside. A Need To Settle Into New Form For What I Hope To Be More 2021 But Better.

My Fervent Flanges Couldn’t Catch The Vibe But  Started Fluttering Eventually.

We'll Get There, don't we? Where We're Supposed To Be.

Look at Him Go, Five Days Into the New Year He's Still Lagging.

In League Of Writers. I'm A Rookie Writer, But Im Playing The scripts Like A Vet.

"Get The Play. No Haste. I'm Jamar Chase. "

I took The short Yardage. Ducked, Weaved, The Doubts Collapsed The Detractors Missed Tackle, And I took Off To Glory.

After A Weekend That Landed Chase Once More In The 200 Yard Club As A Rookie Wideout, Not To Mention The Record Books. The Bengals Offense Now Ranks Amongst The Most Highest in Critical  Threats come Playoff Time. Yes, "Who Dey?" Nation, Back To The Playoffs. The Bengals Made Good On Their first In The AFC North Run Earlier In The Season. How The Bengals Became This Good so Good So Fast. So Many, Including Myself, Counting Them Out Before The Start of The Season. Betting High On Young Skill Players Then Doubling Down.

Hi, I'm Jason. This Website Here,  My platform,  Mindfulmadness.com.

My Blog.

My MacBook, Janeen, She’s My ROD.

This Script, My Work.

I Went To College With Hopes of Becoming A Sports Writer.

Like Many Things In College, It Didn't Work Out.

I left. Then I Became A Sports Writer. Odd But True.

Kind Of Like Jamar

An Amateur Sports Writer.

Of My College Experience What Did I Gain?

A College Experience, Well, That's Kind Of Like Jamar Chase. If You Blink, You'll Miss It.

What Matter More Anything Else Now?

Your Quarterback? His Quality Of Play Today Or Tomorrow Or His status For The future? Who Finishes the Game  On The Roster Or Who Takes up and Walks Away? When does Your Seven Game Winning Streak Begins Or End: In The Playoffs Or Tears? What Matter More? When Your Stadium Stations Collapse, Which Could Have Ended Worst Than It Did Or How Your Team Rose Underweighted Circumstances.

What Matters Now Is Confidence.

Confidence That Your Young Quarter-Wideout Duo Would Convert A 3 And 27 Into A Touchdown Covering A Irredeemable suspect Defense. Belief That Down Three Scores To One Of The League Worse Defenses Would Not Serve As A Dampener, Not A Doomsday.

I Know, or At Least Perceive. I write Too Much About the Performance and The Condition Of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. When It’s Brady, The Thoughts Become A lot More In-Depth Than When I Ponder Any other Team. I'm Far More Amorous, Even Tender, When Distilling My Disillusionment With The Viking. I Live To Be Accused Of Being A Bear's Apologist. And Something About Light Blue Uni's Just Gives football And Better Aesthetical Prim. But The Bucs And Brady.

How Long shall we be Privilege To Watch The Play Of The Great Tom Brady? Just Grazing Brady Move At Time. Noticeably With Less “Snap” Than He Had  Maybe Two Years Ago. Brady Had Never Been As Nimblest Gazelle In the Field And Now Than Ever He Appears to Be A few Gallops shorter Than Years Prior. His Turnover Worthy Plays Have Climb To It's a Highest Of His Career. Turnovers Are A Given In An Aggressive Offense Like The One Built-in Tampa, But Father Time Sometimes Appears To be Going in The Ring for The Three Count.

For The Number Franchise To Whom Brady Has Earned A Villainous Reputation With, You Know, The None  Bucs--Patriots Fans. I challenged you To Sit And Ponder as The 44 Year Old Take The Field And tear your Heart Out with Dashing Excellence. Consider That One Day It Maybe The Last Time You Get To Witness him.

Weep Mortals.

Every Time Kyler Murrays Stepped Into Dallas's AT&T Stadium, Home Of the Cowboys; He's The Best Quarterback. Harrowed as The Best Quarterback In The History of Texas' Illustrious Football History, He finished 43-0 as a starter, five games at the Cowboys' AT&T Stadium. Murray's Hots streak continued Into  His One At Texas A&M, Oklahoma, And  The Pros And so On Sunday. You couldn't Always Tell By His "Diminutive," Quick Twitch frame. But Murray Could Very well Be The Most Decorated Athlete Of The Passed Decade.

Murray’s One Starting Season At Oklahoma, He Finished With 4000 yards and 40 Touchdown, Not To Mention The Heisman. He And The Sooners pushed Bama Straight Through To the Finish on the 2018 Orange Bowl. Then He Got Drafted, Twice—both times as A Top ten selection. With Any Two-Sport Athlete, The Choice Never Comes Easy. Murray Oscillated A bit, Then opted for Baseball. After His signing Bonus, A Baseball Laid In wait.

Unexpectedly,  True To Form In His Scrambling Nature In The Pocket Murray Reversed Course, Settling On Football After The  Heisman Selection.

It Hadn't Been Clear Then, But It's a bit clearer now. Playing Baseball  Meant Murray Would Have Been One Of the Many Talented Infielders. Every Good Baseball Team Has Dozens Of Them. Instead, Murray Could Be One Of The Few Elite Starting NFL Quarterbacks.

Fair To Say It's Work out So Far. Murray Hasn't Reach The Heights of Elite. They are Question About His Game. He Struggles To Make Big Time Drop In the Bucket Type completions, Though He Had A Few Against Dallas. The Cardinals, Were Slumping Some, on Three-Game Losing Streak, Bizarrely welcomed The Perpetually Overrated, On A 4 four Game Win Streak Cowboys. I Say Bizarre Because The Cardinals Have several players who run deep into Texas. Including wideout Antoine Wesley Who Had His Way in the Cowboys Secondary, Also Perpetually Overrated by the Way.

"I guess good juju in that building." The Cards went up 22-7 Into The fourth. The Cowboys only Touchdown to That Point: A fade Route, To The End Zone To Michael Gallup. Gallup Came down With Score, But Rose Heading Into The Locker. The Final Verdict. Lost for The season with A Torn ACL On That Play.

For A Long while, that touchdown Felt Like Dak's Only Completed Pass. He Finished 24/38, 226 Yards. The Cowboys Followed That Score Into  The Second half With Two Three And Outs Before The Second touchdown Hit The Board. The Cardinals Had Already Put Their Second Touchdown Up On the First Drive, Murray's Second Connection With Antoine Wesley for The Game. The Cowboys Finished With A Late, Garbage Time Touchdown.

That Made Three On The Game For Prescott.

Prescott A Lost Fumble In The 2nd Half, Scrambling To beat Pressure. Which Ultimate  Stymied The Final volts of Momentum.

The Rushing Attack never Got Its Feet On The Ground, So To Say. Ezekiel Elliot finished with 9 Attempts for 16 Yards; The Second Worst Output In His Career. His Worst In Four Season.

Tony Pollard Fell A Bit Short of Underperforming Zeke With three Carries Yards. After The Cowboys Deficit Grew Two Scores, The Passing Attack Became The Only Potential Counter Measure. Because The Packers Won, The Lost Proved o be negligible in The Standing, But It Hurts Cowboy credibility And Confident. I Don't Want The Cowboys Offenses Shortcomings To Eclipse The Lightning Rod Defense. The Pass Rush, led By Micah Parson, Who Has 14 Sacks On The Season, Generated 18 On Sunday, Including 14 hurries. The Pass Rush Has Delivered consistently Over The Pass Two Months. The Coverage Unit Fell Flat Some. The Top Four Corners In coverage Snaps; Trevon Diggs, Anthony Brown, Jayvon Kearse, And Jordan Lewis. Gave Up Passer Rating Of 109.7, 101.0, 93.8, and 118.8 When Targeted.

No Too Mention No Turnover And Anthony Surrendering Two Touchdown. Trevon Diggs Gave 27 Yards Per Catch On three targets And Two Receptions.

The Cards Get A Much Needed Win and Remain In a position To Take The AFC West If The Rams Should Stumble. Something Matthew Stafford And Co Have Been On The Brink Of Collapse In recent weeks. The Cards Are far From Dominant Or even threatening To Any of The NFC Chiefs. When the Cowboys Passing Offense Found The Alacrity To Extend drives Beyond A Sputtering Crawl, Those Drives Mostly Cam By Dallas, Carving to Pieces of The Cardinals Secondary.

The Cincinnati Bengals. One of The Few NFL Franchises  That Isn't Universally Acclaim. The Bengals Brand Of Stripes And Dark Colors Never travel Outside Of intermediate Ohio. Think About It: If You Aren’t From the Queens City, Or "the Queen of the West," The Bengals Aren't on Your Radar. Until They, well,… We'll Get To That.

Even When They Were "Good," A Decade Ago. The Red Rifle Andy Dalton, former top 10 Receiver A.J. Green, Carlos Dunlap, And Darqueeze Dennard, They Took The AFC North And The Playoff To Charge. As A Fan, You Could Never Quite Take Them Seriously. Their Brief Run Through the Playoffs Would End In The Wild Card Round.

Even When The Brand  Of The Bengals Never  Carried, The offense Always Did, Kind Of.

The Bengals Franchise, Given Life After Football Pioneer Paul Brown, An Offensive Shogun Himself,  Got Ousted In Cleveland.

He Moved on, Begrudgingly, To Start A franchise A few Miles West. This Sunday, The Bengals Welcomed In The AFC West winners, The Chiefs. The Chiefs Had Been The Best Team In The AFC, Winners Of An Incredible Eight In A Row. The Chiefs Rose To A Quick 14-0 Lead And. By Half Time, They Had 28 Points On The Board. Then the Chiefs Offense Went Dormant. The Bengals Volatile Offense Went Supernova. After Starting The Game With Two Punts, The Bengals Went on Run of touchdown, Touchdown, Field Goal, Touchdown To Shift Momentum, And Pull Within One Score 28-24. One Bengal Touchdown Pulled Burrow And Zac Taylors Team Before A Chief Field Goal Tied it.

A last Minute Field Goal Won The Game And The North For The Bengals. The Divisive Element To the  Bengal's Offense, Exemplified Best in Their Final Two drives of The Game, The Blend Of Explosive And Methodical Drives.

Between Their Four Touchdown Drives, Two Were The Result of Joe Burrow Short Passes To Jamar  Chase Who Then Detonated On The Chief's Secondary For Scampers To The House 72 Yards And 69 Yards Respectively. The Other Two Drives were More Scripted With A Blend of Explosive. The Burrow-Chase Converted A 3rd And 27 for 30 To The Chief's 11 That Essentially Iced The Game. The ESPN Offensive Efficiency Rating Best Quantifies The Mercurial Nature of The Bengals Offense. Still Floating Below The Top 10, Below The Likes of San Francisco, Indianapolis And Charger And One Above The Eagles.

On The Bengals Final Touchdown Drive, Their Penultimate Score. Joe Burrow Completed A 39 Yard Pass To Tee Higgins To The Chiefs 29. After Which, Many Short yardage Pick Ups And Joe Mixon Runs. They Hadn’t Needed More Yard To Goal.

But The Point Remains that The Offense Can Balance When Need Be. Jamar  Chase scored three touchdowns on 11 catches and, with 266 receiving yards, set the record for the highest single-game total in franchise history. Sunday Secured Chase Second 200 Plus Yard game for The Season After recording 201 Yard Game Against Baltimore Week 7. Chase Who'll Mostly Win Offensive Rookie of The Year, Blend Strength And Bendiness With Quick Twitch Volatility. He's The Living Embodiment of The Bengal's Offense.

While Chase Has 1400 Plus  Yards on The Season, Outside of His Two 200 Yard Games And 3 100 Yarder, His Production Kind of crumbles. In The Past Two, Joe Burrow's Near 1000 Yards Has Cincinnati's Top Ten Passing offense In A Near Unchallengeable Sphere. But There Are Too Many 10-17 Point Games In the Final Box Scores Of Their Season. Even More, The Team Lives And  Dies On Chase's Productivity. That’s. Not To Say This Isn’t Burrow’s Team. The Former LSU Tigers Hold Top 10 Position In Both Passing Yards and Touchdown as well As Interception.

In The Bengal's 10 Wins, Chase Averages Over 100 Per Game, In their six losses, Just 70 Yards. That's A Thirty-Yards Difference In Productivity.

Greater Variance In His Productivity That Correlates To Either Wins or Losses Rather Than The Steady Hand Of Burrow. I Know, It’s Elementary To Simply State, “Oh, when They Win, Chase Plays Good And When Lose He Doesn’t.”

That’s Not what Im Saying Exactly. Compare Chase To Justin Jefferson, Former LSU Teammates. Whether The Vikings Win or Lose You Can Count Jefferson Production To be Over 100. There’s A Greater Consistency. if The Bengals Are Losing Expect There To Be A Slow Night for Chase.

With both the Bills And Patriot, Two of The League’s More Vaunted Secondary’s Preparing for Deep Playoff Run. Dont Be Surprised If All Of This Bengal’s “Hype” Gets Expunged In The Early Rounds Of The AFC Playoffs.

Look, It's a Sensitive Conversation—the Antonio Brown Implosion Of course.

The "Almost" Lost To The Jets, That’s Another Matter.

"He's No Longer A Buc"-Bruce Arians. After the Bucs Comeback Win Over The Jets, The Gravity Brown Tearing Off His Jersey, Apoplectic After Being Bench, Couldn't Be Avoided. Brown Got Cut In The Instant. Arians Welcomed Mountains Of Criticism After Welcoming Brown, Whom, most Asserts Should Have Been Living On His Football Lifeline, Back Into The Buc’s Locker Room Some Three Weeks Ago.

Instead Of Off The Roster and Into The League, Brown Returned To The League's Best Offense: Not Only Another Cog But As A Featured Component No Less. With The Bucs Being Down Bad With Injuries, Brown's Return Could Be Anything Less Than Welcome Back. It Seemed Like A No-Brainer. After The Vaccination Fraud Debacle Tore Beyond Egregious And Unnecessary. Brown Had Been Struggling with An Ankle Before The Suspension.

Before The "Controversy" And "Showcase," That had The camera And Eyes  Fitted To The sideline. Brown's Frustration With The Offense Reared Its Head Some Early In The First Quarter. After A Fail Connection Between He(brown) And Quarterback Tom Brady On A Bubble Screen Brown Went To The Sideline Noticeably Disinterested. The Bucs Offense Struggle To Tie Any Amount Of Drives Together Before They Found Themselves Down Three Scores. Brown, who caught Just Three catches To The Point of His Departure, had Little effect on The Game To that Point.

If Brown Got Back Into The Bucs Stadium For Any Reason After his Suspension, His Relationship With Tom Brady Would Chief Among Them. The Two Share A "Friendship," which In Football I Assume Means As Much As It Does In "Real-life"—Sorry, Some pandemic Stuff. I think We all could use A Moment. "Yeah, I mean, that's a difficult situation," said Brady. "We all love him; we care about him deeply. We want to see him be at his best, and unfortunately, it won't be with our team. We have a lot of friendships that will last, and again I think the most important thing about football is the relationships with your friends and your teammates,  and they go beyond the field."

Before Brown's Meltdown Took To The Stands, At least his Equipment Did, and He Took To The Locker and Later To Instagram And Uber. Fellow Wideout Mike Evans Attempted To Reason Or at least Assuaged The conflict A Bit. Once It became Clear That Brown Temperament Had Turn Inconsolable, Being someone Incapable Of reasoning. A.B.'s Descent Into Unemployment Became Inevitable. Evans walks away. Because Had it Not been Time Enough To Return To The Game. Brown, A Star Wideout,  Now Finds Himself In Line For An XFL Contract Instead Of Another Run At A Superbowl.

Given That Brown hadn't Recovered from His Ankle, Could Imply That His Concerns Rested More in the Playoffs Than A week 17 Matchup With The Jets. Not the Best Rationale.

Your Team Needs You Now. I Wouldn't Go As Far As To Say Brown Quit on His Team But Running Off Of The Field On A "Gimpy" On A Ankle Doesn't Go Too Far To Rebuff The Argument. I Would Go As Far As To Say We've Haven’t  Seen the Last of Brown. The Cowboys Need A Wideout Right Now. They Have A Owner Who At times Seem As Unchallenged as A god When it Comes to Making team Decisions. The 'Boy Also have A fan Base Recklessly Devoted to The team "Perceived" Success. Given Brady's Sometimes Suspect Reputation for "Protecting" His Wideouts, Brown May Have been Justifiably Concerned. Brown's Muddied reputation  Has made Him a Villain To The Media. Few Feel Attrition In Mentioning This Has been Four teams Who Couldn't Make It work.

The Bucs Haven’t officially Cut Him Per Reports. If They Took Him Back, I wouldn’t Be Surprised.

No Hypocrisy For Winners In The NFL

Back to The Game.

By Halftime, I thought This Would be One Of Those Autopilot “Games” For The Bucs. Like That Saints Lose. Or That Washington Football Team Lose, Or That Other Saints Lose. Great Teams Are Always Vulnerable To “Not Showing up Day” syndrome That Runs Rampant In January. With Some Chunks Of This  Long Season Still Uncharted, So Deep Into The climate Change. The Jets Found Another Gear Or At LEast Frits Gear And Git Up Three Score through The Third, Chalking Up This recent Shortcoming as The Bucs Having Already Won The Division. The Bucs  Losing Momentum. The Bucs are Trying To Stay Healthy.

Brady's Gotten Older Again. It’s a Narrative As Old As Time.

It made sense, But The Jets Just Played football Sunday. Who knew.

Zach Wilson Heard The Chatter. He's The Worst Amongst A Growing crop Of Generationally abysmal rookie Quarterbacks. Another Name In The Long Line of Quarterbacks The Jet's Failed To Develop. Career Supposedly Ended.

Zach Wilson Had One Of His More Steadied Performance. Finishing 19/33 For 234 Yards With a Q.B. Rating Of 89.7(second Best for Him This Season) And An Adjusted Completion Percentage Of 72.4. His Adjusted Only Exacerbates The Jets Dire need For Better "weaponry" Surrounding Wilson. The Jets’-Line Continued To get punished. Wilson Had A Reasonable 2.65 Seconds To Throw, But An Line Conceded 12 total pressures, ten hurries, One Sack, And One Hit. Wilson Struggled A Bit In The Secon,d And The Bucs Defense Forced The Jets Offense To Morph Back Into Its Early Season form. You Know Punt, Punt, And Punt And Again.

Trivia:

With No Brown, Statistically The Best Receiver on The team. Brady Turn His Sights To Mike Evans(?), Rob Gronkowski(?) Cameron Brate(?). If You Guess Cyril Johnson. You'd Be Correct.

It's a Story As Old As Time Itself. Time On The clock. Sizable Lead. An Adversary Whose Sudden Efficiency The Root of Its Conceit. Up to four Late In The Forth The Jets Play Aggressive. On A fourth and Two In Tampa Territory, The Jets Play the Odds. After Holding Onto The Win Probability for nearly All of The Second Half, The odds Rising As High 99.9% The Jets Fail on A Fourth Down Conversion. Radical. They were handing The Ball To Brady With Less Than two Minutes To Go. Given The "uncharacteristic" Season Brady Has Had Lately, the Obligatory  Game Winning Drive Didn’t seem So obligatory. He Threw A Pick late Against The Saints. Another One Hear Wouldn't Be So Shocking.

With Deft Like Surgical Precision, Brady Puncture And Clipped His Way Through the Jets Defense. Tampa Brady Has Not always Played To The Heights of Classic Brady. With Those Darkened Thread It Reminisce Of A lot Of Golden Boy Characters Turn Darkside By Lust For Power. Like Majin Vegeta Not Too Mention, There haven't been Too Many opportunities for Brady To Turn back The Clock Some. Brady Double-clutch, Pondering For A Quick Glitch The Uncorked A-Bomb. He Linked up With Cyril Johnson In The Corner. The Force of The Throw Thrusting Johnson backward, Into The Endzone.

The Bucs Take The Lead 28-24.

The Finals Jets Drive Written So Appropriate. FUMBLE.

Brady finished The Game With 400 Yards. Cyril Johnson, A Undrafted Free Agent Out of LSU. PFF Noted That Grayson Has 11 Catches In His Career, 2 Touchdown 9 Of Those Catches In The Pass Two Weeks.

Despite Its uncertainty At Time, This Win Could Prove To Be That, Sort of It Moment of The Season. Some football Fans may Recall Back in 2018. Brady And The Patriots Lost Two In A Row Early. The Chatter, Brady cant Get it Done. The dynasty had Died. Then They Made A Statement The Following Week In Route To Another Superbowl. The Year Before The Dynasty Died.

If The Bucs make Another Run, After The Tumult of The Final Few Weeks, looking Back, Could This Be The Game That Sparks A Fire In The Team To Make A Run?

The Playoff Picture Has Mostly calcified With One Week of Football To Play. Some Hopefuls Still Hang Limp Over The Precipice Of The mountain, But They'll come Crushing Back Down Into Reality Soon Enough.

49ers Rookie Trey Lance Took Home his first win As A Starter After Sunday’s Win Over The Texans. The North Dakota State Product Had  249 yards, two touchdowns, and a 70% Completion Percentage. Lance Always Has Always Been  More Of An Athlete Playing Quarterback instead of just being a quarterback who can assume the title as an athlete. It's a Similar Vein To Cam Newton, Jalen Hurts, But It's Great To See His Career Propelling Towards A Propitious Climb. He Pushed The ball Deep, A Facet of His Game that Translated from College. His Ball Placement And Accuracy Remain Suspect At Times, But He's Made Some Impressive Throws On Sunday. Lance Has Had Time To Sit And Stew after his Last Cluster Of Starts. With Jimmy G Status Still uncertain, The Niner's Playoff Hopes on The Line, Sir Lance-A-Lot  Could Be The Savior of Their  Season.

This Throw Here By Lance. Into The Short Corner Complete To Aiyuk. It’s A Great Example Of Lance’s Delevopemnet And Ball Placement. Despite The Completions, Lance Earned Some Censure From Pro football Focus For Poor Placement. The Football Stats Source Marked This As A Turnover Worth Play As Well. As Much As I Trust Their Observation. I’ve Seen Guys Like Aaron Rodgers Make Throws Narrowly Identical To this Or others With Even Grosser Audacity Every Sunday and Earn Praise. The Ball Gets Tip But The Velocity Push The Ball Like A torpedo Through Two Defenders, Both Of Who Make Contact With the Ball, Before It Enters Into A spot Only Aiyuk Could Snag It.

If The Rams Do Win. They’ll Welcome That Gritty Saints Defense And Its Elite Corner Marcus Lattimore. Staffords Struggles With Turnovers Could be Amplified even Further.

Jalen Hurts Has The Eagles in the Playoffs for The First Time In Some Time. It Took a Late Drive Against An Already War-Torn Washington football Team To Complete One This Season noticeable Turn Arounds. The Eagles Will Mostly Fly To Whomever Lands Second In The NFC(T.B. Or LAC). With Both The Cards And Eagles In The Wild Card Slow. The NFC Playoff Spot Belong To either The Resilient Saints(8-8) And The 49ers(9-7).

If the Saints beat the Falcons and the 49ers lose at the Rams, New Orleans will grab the spot with a better conference record. Both The Niners And Rams Have a Position To Lose on Sunday. The Cards Can Still Fly Out Of The Wild Card And Home Field Advantage with a. Win And Loss By The Rams. The Cards Are now Set To Visit AT&T Once More Should The Playoff Picture Stand From Into Wild Card Weekend.

With Chief Loss, The Titans Have The Inside Drive To The No.1 Seed And The Bye. Derrick Henry Could "Potentially' Return, But The Titans Are Winning Without Him. A Deep Playoff Run Shouldn't  Be The Case for An Offense Defined By One Modifier "Average."

Still,  Average has been Deadly Lately.

Aside From The Titans, The AFC Remains A Float On Muddied Waters. The Raiders And Chargers Have a Critical Showdown This Weekend. A win By Either AFC West Rival Puts Victor  In The Playoff a Lost By The Colts, And Steeler Gifts The Raiders A Playoff Spot. A Chargers Loss puts L.A.'s Rudderless Team Outside of The Playoffs. It's Easy To Assume The Colts won't Lose To Jag. Have You Seen Trevor Lawrence Lately? If The Colts  Simply Run The Ball, A lot, It'll Be A Feat Notch Above Herculean. But We've Seen The Bills Falter Against This Hapless Jags Team Once, Into Short Feat To Ponder The Brittle Composure of The Colts Breaking Down Under The Weight of Expectations On Sunday.

The AFC East Remains An Unsettled Affair For The Bills And Pats. A Bills Lose Welcome The Patriots Back Home Atop The AFC East.

Week 16 Takeaways: Not Quite So Playoffs.
