My Wide Receiver Rankings Ahead Of The Season.

The Wide Receiver Position Present Such A Difficult Gordian Knot To Undo As A Judgment That Undoing The Knot Requires A Lot OF Time Spent In Pensive Silence. You Can’t Go Wrong Because The Receivers Atop Exhibit Near All Encompassing Skills Then That Same Excuse Makes Choosing One So Difficult. Like Choosing Your First Pokemon In The RPG, Each Type HAs An Advantage Somewhere Along The Journey. Easy, Look At The Stats, Right? Well, Numbers Don’t Lie, But They Can Deceive Pure Numbers Serve As A Great Yard, Stick But An Incomplete Yard Stick No Less. The Position Stands As The Most Stacked Position In The League. You're Pressed To Decide Who Reigns Supreme, No Matter What A Top 100 List Dictum. I'm Looking At The List Of Receiver And How They Stack Up Against Each Other, And As The Name Shift, I'm Thinking If I Should Add That Guy Or Should Mention This One As A Honorable Top Ten Guy. By The Time I Post This List, I Might Change My Mind On Whether My Top Should Stay At The Top.

For So Long In The League Evaluators, Those Unseen "Judgement" Makers, Could Point To One Receiver Who Stood Out Above The Rest Of The Pack.

Randy Moss, Jerry Rice, Etc You Knew Who Stood As The Top Guy In The League. Over The Last Decade, High Demand And Even Higher Salaries Would No Doubt Drive The Position Into Higher State Evolution Of Bigger Bodies With Complete Skill Sets. Still, I Don't Think Anyone Thought This Eruption Of Evolution. If Wide Receivers Haven't Surpassed Quarterbacks In Significant Yet, They Will In the Season Coming. With The Running Back Position Steadily On the Decline and the Quarterback Continuing To Destabilize the Season Too, Season Wide Receivers Have Proven A Consistent Catch, Pun Intended. Wide Receivers Define Excitement. They Define Elegance. They Define Offense, And Offense Defines Football.

Not Since I Had To Choose My Favorite Kanye West Album Have I Ran Into A "polymelia "Quandary, A complex "Rube Goldberg machine" Whose End Could Change. Whose The Best Receiver In The Game Today? Can The Term "Complete" Stand In place Of "Best"? A Time Ago, Receiver We're Bunched Into Categorically Phrases Like "Fast" Guys, "Tall" Guys, "Strong" Guys, Route Runners, The "Elusive" Guys, And Such; now You Can Pour All Of Those Phrases Into one Receiver, like A Bowl Of Alphabet Soup. This List Evokes My Opinion, My Often Right But Overlook Opinion.

1) Jamar Chase( Yes)

Jamar Chase Finished With A Down Year From A Numerical Counting Number Standard Compared To Other Years But Not Even Missing A 1/3 Of His Games In 2023 Could Keep Chase Out Of The Best Wide Receiver Conversation. Despite the Injury, His 1266 Yards Still Held Chase In Place As A Top Ten Receiver Production. Ever Since Entering The League Out Of LSU Two Years Ago, Chase Has Followed Intently Behind The Steps Of Their Former Teammate, So Much So That The Two Have Found Themselves Intertwined. Jefferson set The Rookie Standard Fir Yardage, Only For Chase To Break That A Year Later. Justin Jefferson Stormed The NFL with 200-Yard Game Chase Replaced Him. Even With Jefferson's Surge As The Most Productive Three Year Starter, If Chase Hadn't Missed Time, He'd Have Broken Those Records. 1200 Or More Yards Doesn't Come By Easily For Any Receiver, But That's Far Off Of The Standard Chase Set A Year Ago At 1823. Chase Remained On Pace To Reach That Mark Again Before Injury: the Bengals Offense Moves Chase And His (Those Numbers Include His Postseason Production). The Combination Of Speed, Power, And Finesse Make Him Possibly The Best Receiver, Certainly The Most Physical Intimidating. Joe Burrow Pilots The Cincy Offense Like A Glove, And He Puts The Ball Where Chase Can Seize The Opportunity. Chase Has strong Whenever A Ball Has a chance. Even With Multiple Defenders Roaming, Chase Has The Upper Hand. Defenses Seem Helpless To Match His Movements On Those Short Curl Routes, Where He Plant One Direction, Catches The Ball, Then Lunges Forward For More Yards. Zach Taylor And the Bengals' Offense Also Used Chase In The Back Field. He Roams Free To Pick Up A lot of YAC(Yards After Catch), Ranking Second Only To Deebo Samuel On ESPN's Tracking Metrics. He's Especially Explosive Off Of The Line Of Scrimmage, And Strong with The Ball Going Down the Field.

2) Davante Adams(My Original Number One)

For Flickering Moment In Time Like A Plane Disappearing Into The Night Sky, Davante Adams Appeared To Reach A Decline In His First Season In Silver And Black. I Know That Sounds Anatomical Incorrect, But Stick With The Idea. During The First Month Of The Season, Adams Only Managed 189 Yards, totaling Across Three Games. Developing A Rapport With His Best Friend And Quarterback, Derek Carr, And Formalizing The New Head Coach Josh Mcdaniel's Offense Took Some Time. Then The Offensive Gravy Train Began To Click. The Best Active Receiver In Football Wanted To Set The Record Straight About His Status, That He's The Best No Matter Whose Throwing Him The Ball, And The "Whitewash" Argument That His Greatness Came as A Compliment Of Aaron Rodgers. After Slow Start, Adams Took On The Challenge. Between Weeks Four and Eleven, Adams Registered Five 100 Plus Yard Games On hIs To Collecting His Third Straight All-Pro, The All-Pro Which Meant The Most. "You can erase all the numbers. You can write in: He didn't need Aaron Rodgers."

Adams Didn't Need Aaron Rodgers. Things Look The Other Way Around; Rodgers Needed Him. As A received, Adams Stole His Narrative From Former Wrestle Lex Luger, "The Total Package."

His Release Package Could Threaten An 'Hokage' In The Naruto Anime. He Can Get open On Coverage. PlayerProfile Recorded Adams With The Second Best Juke Rate (16.5%) And Sixth In EPA and Only Nine Drops. He Posted A Career Best Yards Per Reception, 15.2, Adding A League 14 Touchdown, The 2nd Best Numbers Of His Career.

Now That Adams Has Excersized Those Demons, He'll Have To Face The Challenge Once More.

For All The Great Numbers, Adams Still Posted One Of The Lowest Catch Rate and Reception Rates in The Season. With A Second Season In McDaniel's System, Adams Will Look To Re-Establish Himself among Those Ranks. He'll Face The Similar Problem, A Second Season With A New Quarterback.

"A quarterback doesn't make me… I make me". The Time For Adams To End That Argument Once and For All Arises this Season.

3) Justin Jefferson

Justin Jefferson Presents The Quantum Riddle For The Top Spot At Receiver. By All Accounts, He's The Best; It's The Best When Changing Gears, Like A Car That Changes From First To Fifth In One Motion. His Hands, I'm Sure, Have The Spider Fibers You Find On Spider-Man's Hands. But If I'm Comparing JJ To Any Other Superhero, He's "Metamorpho" In The Way In Which His Body Wiggles Then Straightens Up as He Bends In On To The Breaking Point Of His Route. For Those Of You Unfamiliar With Metamorpho, A DC Comics Hero Power Surround The Ability To "transmute his body into a wide variety of elemental compounds and form them at will." You Get The Picture When Watching Jefferson.

Everyday Doesn't Witness That Level Of Superhuman Elasticity Too Often. Jefferson Always Knows When To Get Active, When The Chips Get Laid On The Table, He's The Number To Call, And He Gets. The Former LSU Tiger Lead The League In First Downs, And He's Accumulated 216 Over The Pass Three Years. His Near 5000 Yards(4,873), I Said 5000 For Emphasis, Puts Jefferson's Career On The Best Three Year Stretch To Start Of Any Wide Receiver Ever, And He's On The Fast Path To Greatness. Jefferson's Production Has A Special Wondrousness When You Consider He Entered The League With The Influx Of Wide Receiver Talent. Despite Some Late Season Setbacks(Bad Games), Jefferson Still Pulled Away From Tyreek Hill For The League Leader In In Total Receiving Yards On The Season With 1857. His 2.55 Yards Per Reception put Jefferson In Place For Second, and Also Finished Second In Contested matches. He's Tacked On 25 Touchdowns In That Time, And That's Where I'd Like To See Jefferson Force More Control Over The Game. The Vikings Finished Middle Of The Pack In Team Passing Touchdown Percentage. Jefferson Also Needs To address His Productive Inconsistencies. If You Scan Through Any Season Of Jefferson's, You Notice A Trend Of Up, Down, Up, Down, Game To Game Nearly 200 Yards One Day and Barely 50 Another Game. He's The Focal Point Of Any Defense That Faces The Vikings. As Green Bay and Jaire Alexander Exemplified Last Season, Jefferson Has To Find A Way To Show Up Every Day. "Doing Better Than I Did Before Always Trying To Find Ways To Improve, Learn New Moves Get Better At My Craft. Justin Jefferson Said, "I'm Human." That Human part Of Justin Doesn't Always Register On the Field And How He Plays. He Defies Reality. But He's Still Got Room To Grow, Scary Thought For DBs.

4) Stefon Diggs

Ahead Of The 2018 Draft Josh Allen's Inaccuracy Worried Scout Who Most Concluded That Despite His Hulkish Sturdy Frame Tether To His Feline Like Athleticism With The Added Bazooka Arm, Could All Go To Waste If Allen Couldn't Accurately Place The Ball. For The First Two Year Of Allen's Career, Those Prophecies Looked Probably Allen Into The Pot As One Of The Least Accurate Quarterbacks and, Ultimately, A Bust. Going Into Allen's Third Year And The Year Of Declaration Of Commit, A UnExpected And Fortunate Opportunity Fell Into The Bills Lap. Vikings Number One(Ish) Receiver Stefon Diggs Came Available, And The Bills Swept In to Bring Their Project Of A Quarterback A Tier 1 Guy On The Outside. Overnight Allen's Accuracy Jump Leaps And Bounds A Near Remarkable Turn-Around. For Starters, His Unaltered Completion Percentage Jump Nearly 10% (56.3% TO 65.3%,53% As A Rookie) Between His First Two Season And His Final Three Seasons, Season In Which Allen targeted Diggs 485 Times In Three Years, Which Makes Up More Than Quarter Of Allen's Passing Attempts. Diggs Career Launched Into Another Stratosphere As Well. Away From The Frigid Cold Offensive Philosophy Of Minnesota. Why Has Diggs Emerged as Allen's Favorite Target? Because Diggs Catches Everything Catchable. In Three Years In Buffalo, His 338 Passes To Diggs A Ball Thrown Behind Him, A Ball Thrown In Front Of Him O,r a Thing In Reach Serve As Challenges To His Abilities. Even Within The Breach Of Multiple Defenders, Diggs Has The Best Odds To Reel In Whatever Targets Fly Around.

I mentioned Allen's Absurd Arm Strength, Well That Pairs Perfect With Diggs Suction Cup Mitts. Allen's Arm Loves A Deep Pass No Problem Diggs Feet Coe Produce Enough Revolution To Produce Electricity. Off the Line Of Scrimmage, Diggs Has Enough Releases To Match The Sorcerer Supreme; if A Defensive Backs Tries To Get His Hands On Diggs, The Bills Wide Receiver Eludes Him With Such Ease You Can Assume He Phased Away. Diggs Ranked Seventh In Getting Open According to ESPN Tracking Metric, And Stood On Top Of A League's Best +71.8 total EPA.

After Bills Lost in The AFC Playoffs, Diggs Expressed Some Cryptic Frustration Towards The Team, Seemingly Suggesting That Effort Didn't Meet Opportunity In Their Loss To Cincinnati. The Umbrage Spilled Over Into The Off-Season "Everything Is Water Under The Bridge Now, We're Back At Work." Stefon Digs Said

5) AJ Browns

Statistically, I Don't Think I've Read A Better Argument For The Best Receiver In Football Than The Wall Street Stream Of Numbers AJ Brown Produced Last Season. Numbers Don't Lie, And History Tells Us That Math Has Fallacies, Spots, And Manipulation Points. In First Season With The Eagles, After A Trade With The Titans, Put Forth His Best Season Yet, And The Number Doesn't Just Raise Eyebrows; They Raise An Argument. He Came Out In His First Year With 155 Yards Receiving On Ten Catches. Eventually, He Leads The League Yards Per Reception At 16.3. His Next 150 Plus Yard Game Also Included Three Touchdowns Against The Pittsburgh Steelers In October, In Which Brown Embarrassed The Steelers Defensive Backs By Hauling A Deep Pass Over and Between Two Colliding Defenders. Before He Arrived In Philly, Brown Demonstrated His Ability To Convert Shorter Slants And Curls In YAC With The Eagles And Hurt Brown Showed The Complete Threat Across The Field. Brown Pulled In Eight Deep Receptions And Still Piled On About 10.3 YAC/REC With 16.97 Yard Per Route Run. Brown Also Finished First In ESPN's Overall Wide Receivers Tracking Numbers, With A Third Place In Pulling Open Overall In Catching. Not Known For His Speed Brown Registered A 16.3 Yard Per Reception.

6) CeeDee Lamb

Cederian(CeeDee's Real Name) Might Not Take Home The Spot As The Best Wide Receiver In The Game; He's Certainly Amongst The Best. But He Could Take Home My Heart As My Favorite Player. If I Had To Put CeeDee's Game into words, Oh Wait, I Do. He's Very Aerodynamic, And Shifty. I Don't Know Which Way He'll Bend Defenders Won't Either, And That's A Crusher On Those Choice Route Or Post Snap Deliberations Between He And Dak. His Ability To Snap Off Route Make Slants and Curls A Almost Jarring Palpable Impact On The Field. He Finished The SeasonWith A Route Win Rate of 49.5% Good Enough For Seventh In The League. After The Catch, He's An Angle Smasher. Ceedee Produces Average Separation On His Route, So To Maximize Results, He Reacts Fast, and With Rare Ninja Like Spacial Awareness, He's Able To Carve Pathway Through Defenders. Ceedee Posted His Second And Best Season Last Year After Taking Over Number One Option Duties From Amari Cooper. He registered 72.5% Reception Percentage, 1544 Yards, 10 Touchdowns, 555 Yards Of Yards After Catch, A 108.5 Quarterback Rating When Targeted, and A 2.39 Yards Per Route Run. His EPA of 84.8 Ranked 4th Amongst Receivers. In Another Dimension CeeDee's The Best Receiver In The Game.

7)Tyreek Hill

Very Few Wide Receivers Leave The Best Quarterbacks In The League, And One Of The Best Offensive Minds The Game Has Ever Witnessed To Go On A Produce Their Best Season Of Production In Their Career. Of Course, Landing In South Beach With Another Increase Spiral, Genius Mind Did Wonders, and Tyreek Hill Rocketed Off To His Best Statistical Season As a Pro. Hill Departed Kansas City Because He's Something Of A Kid Buu Type Of Character Whose Destructive Abilities Inspire Awe By Those Who Wish To Utilize Him Who "irrational and spontaneous" Tendencies Make A Danger To Everyone. Hill's Speed Make Him A Threat To Blow The Top Off Of A Defense But Speed, If Overused Or Left Unchecked, Can Derail An Offense. Explosive Plays Produce Far Too Much "Unpredictability," Like Living A Dying By The Three In the NBA. Of Course, With Tyreek on Onboard And, Well, Paid, The Dolphins Lean In; I Mean, Who Wouldn't? Even As The Dolphins PASSING success Rate Continued To Plummet Near The Bottom During The Final Four Game Stretch Of The Season, Their Explosive Play Rate Continued To Soar, and So So Did Their Passing Status. The Dolphins Finished Second In Explosive Passing Plays, Somehow Still Flanking Kansas City Chiefs. Of Course, Tua's Injury History Stymied Their Growth. Tua's Injury Also Complicates Tyreek Chase Of History. Usually, The One On The Run Hill Found His Footfalls On The Path For 2000 Yards Mid away Through The Season. A Handful, More Of 400 Yard Games By Tua, Would Have Put Hill Will In Range.

Nevertheless, Tyreek Still Generated Most Of Miami EPA Per Coach and Still Served As An Offensive Threat As A Gadget Player On Runs. Mike McDaniels Found Loads Of Intricate Weaves Of Sliding Tyreek Into The Offense. Hills Powers Over And Ultimate Space-Time Show No Signs Of Losing Stride.

8) Jaylen Waddle

I Like Jaylen Waddle More Than A Lot Of Other Football Plaudits. He's The Number Two In Miami's All Out "Oppenheimer" Inspired Offense. His Play Making and Athleticism Makes Up For So Much Of His Quarterback Deficiencies. He And Tyreek Easily Form The Best Wide Receiver Duo In The League, And While Tyreek Forces His Quarterback, Tua, To Stretch His Arm And Anticipation A lot More, Waddle's Increased Size, At least Compared To Hill, Help, I Mean Waddle's Listed as 5'10. Still, He's A But Larger Than Hill; He Adjusts Better To Tua Inaccurate Throws. While Tyreek Speed Can "Atomically" Tear A Hole In A Defense, Waddle More Of A Ball Heat Seeking Missile. Waddle Posses Great Body Control For Adjusting To Passes Both Over Or Under Thrown. He Times His Jumps And Stops Motion In Zone. He Speed Puts Defenders On Their Heels As He Awaits The Ball(Often Under-thrown), But He Gracefully Glides To Capture In His Cuffs. I've Witnessed Waddled Out, Run A Gut, Wait For The Ball, Then Out rerun The Safety (Sorry, Damar Hamlin). Tyreek Doesn't Possess Waddle Length. Coupled with His Athletic Ability, He Also Reflected Better Target Resolution, Meaning He's Easier TonFind Given How Low Down And Compact Tyreek Tends To Run To Reach Maximum Speed. Ultimately Waddle Prove Himself The More Explosive Weapon, Finishing The season Fifth In Big Play Rate based On Opportunity. Waddle Also Force More Open Windows According To PFFs Open Window Rate. Jaylin Waddle Lead The League In Receiving VOA and DVOA But A Good Margin.

9)Amari Cooper

Amari Cooper, In His First Season In Cleveland, Showed He's A Number One Receiver In The Game And Not Just A Prop Up Weapon Of The Cowboy's Offense. Known For His Pristine Route Running, Cooper Showed The More Robust Archway Of His Receiving Ability. He Still Routes Like Michelangelo Painted His Release Frame By Frame And The NFL Play The Distills Out Frame By Frame. Cooper, This Season, Displayed A lot more Fire. The Usually Possession Receiver Exploded Downfield. He Posted Some Of His Best Numbers As a Deep Route Runner With A Career High Average Depth Of Target and The Second Best yards Per Route Run 2.06. Even with The Sometimes Steady Other Times Adventurous Arm Of Jacoby Brissett, Cooper Displayed His Sure Handed-Ness Posting The 12th Best Catching Grade According To ESPN Tracking Metrics—the Brown's Heisted Cooper From The Cowboys To Pair With Deshaun Watson. The Two didn't Clique The Way We Expected once Deshaun Watson Returned From Suspension. Still, Cooper And Watson Will Stand Better with another year in the system together. "The More Reps We Have Together, The Better We'll Be." Said Amari Cooper. I Could Envision Amari Pulling Down A Career Year With A Second Season In The Same System and Another Shot With Deshaun Under Center.

10) Tee Higgins

How evolution(Evolution ?) Has Design Our Mind We Think In This The Patriarchal Hierarchy Has To Stand Set And Arranged In A Way That We Set An Order Status On Two Similar Things. This iPhone Has Greater Status For Me Than The Other iPhone I Use For Just About The Same Operations. We Need To Make More Room For The 1A,1B Argument. Even Though He's Overshadow By His More Explosive Star, Tee Higgins Deserve A lot Of Appeal As A Number 1 Guy. In Truth, He Would Be If He Played Almost Anywhere Else. That Doesn't Mean Higgins Allows Chase Or The Rest Of The Growing Illustrious Class Of Wide Receivers Of 2020 To Running Away From Him.

The Bengals Drafted Higgins One Year Before Chase, They Made Higgins The Number One Pick, Of The Second Round.

Higgins's Game As A Receiver Reminds Me Of Kevin Durant. Both are Absurdly Long Human Beings For Their Position. Still, They Use Those Angular Body To Root Up Space Otherwise Unavailable. with A 34" Wingspan, Higgins Uses His Arms As Almost A Blanket Shrouding Hawking Over Defenders. He's A Natural Hands Catcher, Higgins Snags Ball Out Of The Air Like An Outfielder. Higgins Ranked Fourth In Contested Catch Percentage, Which Feels Low Considering His 6'4 Frame As A Target, But With A Smaller Share Of His Team Team As The Second-Top Option. He's 80/20 On 50/50 Balls. Joe Burrow Has One Of The Best All-Time Completion Percentage To Start A Career For A Reason. Higgins Produces A Near Automatic Conversion Rate When Targeted. Player Profile Rated Higgins Tenth Overall at 97.4% In True Catch Rate And Qb Rating Of 118.5 Per Target, 7th Overall. Higgins Place, Here At Number 10 On My List, Has An Interchangeable Quality Of Its Place. Terry Mclaurin, Who Continues To Take The Lead By Storm Despite Suffering The Ills Of One Of The Worst Quarterback In The League Over The Past Few Years, Could've Slotted In At Ten. Both Counting stats And Advanced Metrics Like DVOA Favor Him, But As I Said, You Go Any Which Way With Quarterbacks. Youngers Guys Like Garrett Wilson, Who I Mentioned as I Briefly Considered Adding Chris Olave To The Mix. Devonta Smith, Another 1B Has An Argument Albeit Not The Strongest Argument On The Deck.

Extra Extra Extra.

Chris Olave

His College Counterpart Garret Wilson Gets All The Hype Basking In The Light Of The New York Media, and Wilson Deserves His Acclaim, But For My Money, I Like Olave. They traded Up To Draft Olave Number 11 Last Year, And In A Season Plague By Average To Moderate Quarterback Play, Olave Didn't Disappoint.

Despite Missing A Couple Of Games Due To Injury, Olave Still Pulled In 72 receptions for 1,042 yards and four touchdowns. The Ohio State Product Accounted For More Than 40% Of The Saint's Passing Yards, Placing Him Third In The NFL. Even Without Sean Payton, The Saints Didn't Struggle To Imagine Ways To Put Olave's Skill Set To Work. Olave Scotch Earth Over He Pulled 515 Yards In The Intermediate Area Of Targets And Finished Fourth 11.70 Yards Per Route Run. Wilson Also Dealt With Quarterback Upheavals, And He Too Dominated The Middle Of The Field With His Almsot Unparalleled Command Of Slant Routes. Olave Got Open With Better Frequency According To ESPN He Ranks Eighth In Their Charting. Olave's Close To The Top Ten As Much As Any Other Receiver In His Class, He Ranked Seventh Overall On ESPN's Wide Receivers Tracking Metric.
